"that was awfully nice of her to say that to us..but I wouldn't want to wake her she needs the rest...I'll just help you in looking out for traiders it'll give me something to do since I can't sleep" Susan said giving a reassuring smile.

Susan looked thoughtful for a moment, "maybe shes not all as bad as I thought she was..." she said partly to Stalker and partly to herself as she thought about her past memories of Jadis.

"I guess..." Susan said still somewhat unsure of her own words, "I guess I was just trying to be careful....I guess I have a slight promblem in trusting people..." she smiled slightly though it faded as quick as it appeared.

Susan nodded slightly sadness showing deep within her eyes, "I know I shouldn't be this way but I cant forget the look Jadis had on when she brought the cruel kife down on Aslan....thats why it's so hard for me to trust her I mean how could anyone be so heartless?" she tried to hide the shakyness in her tone of vioce but failed miserbly.

huge tears began welling up in Susans eyes as she played the scene of the stone table over in her mind, "I remember watching all the horrible things she had her mintions do to Aslan....you can't tell me you actually enjoyed watching it even when you were evil?" she said her vioce cracking slightly as she looked up at Stalker sorrow anf greif playing deeply in her soft brown eyes.

Edmund slid off the Great Lions back and ran to his sibleings who in turn embraced him in a loving hug showing they had missed him dearly and were overjoyed to have him with them once again. every one of the childrens faces seemed to fall when they saw Peter returning from Lorettas room speaking of her absence. before anyone new for certain what was going on, Aslan turned to Susan, "Susan ready your bow and arrows and clime on my back quickly" apun hearing the lions words Susan maid no hesitations in running back to her room and readying her bow and arrows. when she was finished she ran back to Aslan as fast as her legs could carry her and climed apun his back with her bow now drawn and ready for action. Lucy stood close to Peter, Stalker and Edmund as Aslan took off outside of the castle as soon as Susan was apun his back. "whats going on?" she asked in confustion looking pleadingly to her brothers and wolf friend for the anshered. she looked around at all of the creatures living in the castle and realized how terribly frightend they were feeling just by taking once glance at thier terrified features.

Aslan ran outside of the castle in a flash with Susan holding onto his mane tight enough as not to fall off the running lions back. when they reahced the outside Aslan maid a sharp right turn and thier before them was a terrifying sight....Loretta was in the clitches of one of Jadis's Mintotaurs who had not yet fully turned on the good side or had just betrayed them all just as Peter and Susan had exspected Jadis's followers to do.
"Loretta!!" Susan cried in horror, Aslan slowed to a halt, snarlieng slightly as the Mintoaur, he looked up at Susan, "now Dear one for this is your battle" he said, quickly turning back to the Minotaur.
Susan took a deep breath, feeling her heart beat begin to increase greatly, as she clutched her bow tightly within her grip.though, apun hearing Aslan's words she lost no time in pointing an arrow right towards the Mintotaurs heart, it seemed time stood still as she released the string of her bow it wen't slying through the air aimed strait for the Minotaurs chest. it ended up barely missing the struggling Loretta in the Minotaurs grip as it hit him right in the heart causing him to let out a sharp gasp as pain rithed throughout his entire body and in a moment or two his grip on Loretta became looser and looser until he had let go comepletely, falling to the ground dead.....
Susan let out the breath she had been holding when she saw the Mintaor fall to the ground as he was dieing. she lost no time in sliding off Aslans back (after already putting away her bow and arrows) and rushing over to Loretta to see if she were hurt or not, "oh, Loretta!! we were all so worried about you!" she cried, holding the little sqiurrel close to her chest. tears of relief began streaming down Susan's cheeks, slightly wetting Lorettas small head.
Aslan walked over to the two and smiled slightly seeing the two friends reuinon unfold before him. "well done my Dearest Susan" he said softly giving her and Loratta a lions kiss on the cheek.

She saved my life a while back, turned Jadis good by the power of love and friendship, and is the best warrior, up there next to orious...you two should get along great. *smiles at ed and then Loretta* its late you all need to get rested...what a night...loretta what happened to your face *seeing her blood stained cheek with a deep gash in it*

"i wanted to do something to help him so badly" Susan said choking back a sob, refusing to let herself cry, "it felt horrible feeling so helpless and knowing you can't do anything about whats happening"

when all of the creatures had scatted Susan found she had been shaking in fear, Aslan turned to her breathing on her gently as to reassur her everything was going to be alight, Susan trembled slightly then rapped her arms around the lion as far as they would reach, burrying her face into his mane. she began to sob though she wasnt qiut sure why. "shh..." Aslan reassured her in a gentle tone, "shh...why don't you carrly little Loretta to bed Dear Susan for it is late and we should all be getting rest for tomorrow"
Susan sloly lifted her head from Aslans mane then scooped up little Loretta in her arms and without hesitation turned and dissapeared down the hallway to do as she was told.
after Susan had left Aslan looked to the rest, "get some rest my Dear family and friends for their is much to do tomorrow and we must be well rested" he could see the fear and terror delling in eyes of the Pevensie children who were still slightly shakenup from what had just happend.

Meanwhile...

*sitting on the edge of her bed**knees pulled up to her chest**looking out the window**remembering the past, the wolves tearing her brother and sister apart, blood staining the white snow...her mothers last words...the prophecy...* mom*she whispered*they sure didn't say anything about this...*her fathers scarred body, surviving on her own with only her eldest brother for a whole year while her father was in the White Witchs dungeon, the hunger, the cold, her brothers terrified face, everything...the strong, brave Loretta broke down...crying**staring out the icy window**sniff* Loretta...get a hold of yourself...its over...its gone...*hugging herself*

"so did I" Susan said unable to let a few tears escape her eyes. she turned suddenly hearing soft sobs coming from Lorettas room, "hey do you think Lorettas alright?" she askec concern and worry within her soft eyes.
