Aaaah! Maugrim or Fenris Ulf?

I know - but if you look in the outtakes (at least on my disc - the 1-disc version), there's one scene where he's crouched dressed in his green suit that really does make him look like a frog. He does that leap, but ad-libs the line about dying by a frog. Had to have been an on-set joke between the actors.

In case you weren't aware, the green suits facilitate the CGA overlay.

ps : for a second, I thought you actually thought taht the line was, "You're going to die--by a frog!" I was a bit worried.. :)
 
Ha! No, I caught the proper line in the movie, which was what made the outtake line so funny. If you have the DVD, take a look at the bloopers - you'll see the shots with the actors like the Maugrim guy and Orius standing there wearing these neon green pants & such with colored dots at various points. You also see people walking around the set during the filming holding up what look like disco balls - these are apparently used for the CGA overlay as well.
 
Maugrim was played by Micheal Madsen, I like his son named Hudson Madsen, at the % th grade dance, i danced with Hudson the most :p , msg me for more info of Micheal and Hudson
 
Easy now ... either she danced with him, or she wants you to think she danced with him either way, it's okay. It takes all kinds. And it is tangenitally related to this Thread cuz of the Mdsen connection. If you want more info on Hudson, go ahead and PM her ...
 
in 3th grade he had long hair, in the beginning of 4th grade he shaved his head,then grew it and spiked it. he ussually wears a black shirt w/ a dead hampster on it. my nieghbor told me ( because i switched schools) that he put his 2nd shirt(cause he usually wears 2) around his waist like a skirt and called himself Hudsina
 
Girher, I suggest you start a Hudson Madsen Thread in the Land of Duffers or cast and crew section. This Thread is about the Wolf, Maugrim, or Fenris Ulf. If you post anymore about Hudson, I will go ahead and delete it as spam, because it does not belong in the Thread.

I am sure others would be happy to visit a Thread dedicated to Hudson, in either of the Forums mentioned above. Thank you. :)

The British version was published first, followed a couple months afterward by the American version. Between the publications, Lewis made minor editing changes on the manuscripts. Which version is "right"? Well, they're both right, because Lewis wrote them both. If you think of "the most recent version written by the author" as being "the most right", then the American version would be preferable, since usually that best reflects what the author really wanted. Since most of the changes are trivial, it doesn't matter much, though Lewis thought the changes at the end of The Dark Island were significant. I grew up on the American version, so Jadis' Chief of Police will always be Fenris Ulf to me.

I would think, (this is just an opinion but anyway.) I would think that Maugrim is technically correct because the British version was done first and Lewis was British but that's what I think. Feel free to disagree
 
But Lewis himself made the change for the American version, and as a writer myself, I know if I made an edit, I would prefer people did not keep using the previous version with the "wrong" word in it.

Yes but he'd decided already to call him Maugrim before he had to make the change. So probably if he hadn't had to change it he would have kept it as that.

Anyway I'm just stating my point

Just when you said you would go with the original British version cuz Lewis wrote it first, I thought, as a writer, his wishes were probably best represented in the last revision (I always make some changes every time I go over something I've written, and then I always want everyone to see the latest version because in my mind it's the best.)

But you say Lewis had to make the change, so I wonder what you know about that? I didn't realize he was forced to change it for some reason -- I thought he just got to thinking about it and decided he liked Fenris Ulf better? Did he have to change it for some reason?
