An Extended Version DVD?

I was just wondering--is there going to be an extended version DVD of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe??--reason I ask, since Lord of the Rings had extended versions, I don't see why there shouldn't be one of Narnia--

Extended DVD

I can't answer your question, but I too hope for an extended version. There are a number of places where additional footage would IMHO improve what is already a great film. I suspect that people from the film watch these fan forums. If enough people want an extended version (and it has to be a lot of folks), they will produce one.

I would also love to own an Extended Edition. I fear that all of the talk about an EE is all rumor. I really hope there will be one someday.

A major difference between this film and the Lord of the Rings, is that the "extended versions" had already been shot and were not necessarily created for a new DVD. They were sections that were edited out simply for time purposes, and Jackson found a venue to reinsert them.

I don't know how much footage Adamson did, but there is no indication currently that he filmed a lot of additional scenes. I think what we saw, plus the deleted scenes stuff, is pretty much it.

Now, that I've rained on you parade, let me say this. I would be very excited to see a longer cut of the film, if it becomes available.

The thing is--there is Always extra footage with films--that's why they have editors to scrap or edit out the parts they don't want--for instance in the special edition version on disc two, and even on the blooper section on the first disc they always show an obvious "dance" scene after the coronation--but not in the movie--and who knows maybe there was more to the battle scene that was cut out

Hay, whatz up with that? Has QLTV changed her name or has she gone? She was one of the kiwis on the site. We need her to vote on the Where should PC be shot poll!!!!

i don't think there is going to be one, because they only didn't use one scene. the dance at the conoration, at least, that's what i've read :(

First i will just said that some scenes in the extended editions of the Lord of the Ringsmovies where shot after the cinema release.
Spokesmen for the dvd production has said that it will come a extended edition and that will include atleast the following parts:
More scenes with Aslan
More characterization
Longer version of the ride towards the Witch´s castle.
A longer scene with the courtyeard of thw Witch´s castle where the creatures comes back to life
The whole dance scene
Longer version of the battle scene which includes some soldiers of the witch´s army to be burned alive by the phoenix.

I hope they include more scenes with beavers including when they receive there gifts and the trailerscene where a wolf says that there are humans in Narnia.

There are rumours that the date will be either this august, this november or sometimes between 9-15 months after the release of the latest dvd release.

In 2005 Andrew Adamson talked about the movie and sad that it would be about three hours long.
They cut down the movie and the reason was that they fought it could be to long for children.

The scene where soldiers are burning where cut down because that they wanted to have a lower age limit to see the movie.

If you compare LWW and the Lord of the ringsmovies is that the same rumours regarding the length happend when they where coming.

The length which was originally said was longer than the cinema version, but became true when the extended editions come out.
It could be that they want to start with filming Prince Caspian,so that a trailer could be include on the edition.
I have heard from different sources that a extended edition may be will come out next spring.

Warner Brothers is planning to make extended editions for all the Harry Pottermovies, but there is a rumour that they will make it first after all the movies has been made, maybe Disney and Walden Media is planning the same thing regarding the Narnia movies.
The reason they are waiting is that they won´t to know which Narniabooks they have made into movies so that they can put parts of the books which they have not made into movies as a parts of extended editions of the movies they have made.

Where did you hear that???

Maybe EE

What did you mean hear ?
If it is about the Harry Potter ee release,i think it was published on wizard news.com or in a news magazine, they officially called it "adult versions "
All other info is on Narniafans.com or on Narniaweb.com ,everything else is just speculation.
I hope we does not have to wait until all Narniamovies has been made before a ee of LWW comes out.
I don´t think a extended edition will come out this year,it would be a surprise if it happends.

my birthday is coming up, and i was wondering if i should ask for the 2 disk edition or if i should wait until the EE comes out, whenever THAT is.

extended edition will have more scenes IN the movie....
I already got the 2 disc one and my mom was mad cuz it was for 40.00$ and I'm so scared that i'm n0oyt 0.going to be aloud to buy the Extens thinking about that yesterday, and it was haunting me, i need comfort. :(
