Anyone Plan On Dressing Up?

There is a Halloween costume store in my area that's open all year round. I will probably go check it out the weekend before Prince Caspian and look at prices for any midevil clothing they may have. Then, I'll use the dress again for Halloween this year. :p I hope they're not expensive. I don't know what I would wear for shoes though. Any ideas?

Anyway, is anyone else planning on dressing up for the premiere of Narnia, or when you go see it in general? I'm asking the guys too, not just the ladies. :)

Oooh I want to, but I dont think my non-Narnia obsessed friends would go with me, unless it were with a paper bag over thier heads! :D People get dressed up for HP and Pirates premieres, so.,.,.,.^For shoes you could try to find some lace up sandals, kind of like the ones Lucy and Susan are wearing in the scene at the stream in LWW maybe?
 
Yes!!! My sis and I are going to go to the midnight showing(if they have one :rolleyes:) and we're dressing up as English schoolgirls with sweaters and collared shirts and wool skirts and the hairstyles and knee highs and the whole nine yards!!! We've been planning it forever!! :p:D
 
^Hey, I didnt think about that idea! English schoolclothes, cool! I love the late 30s to early 40s era, anyway. I'm definetly looking into it :D
I wish we could all go together! :D That would be so crazy and fun!!

I would love to go with another Narnia fan. I have a feeling if I can get a costume I'll be stared at, but I will hold my head up with pride. :D

Excellent suggestion about the shoes. Can anyone here get a close up of the shoes that Anna and Georgie wear when they're in their midevil-type dresses?

Im at school now so I cant look cause I gotta get off here...lol...but Im sure someone can dig up something. Theres lots of medieval inspired mocassins (sp?) and sandals and stuff out there. You can also try the Narnia costume site for ideas if you havent seen it yet...http://costumes.narniaweb.com/

I want to get dressed up, too! I know my sister will dress up with me, because we dressed up for LWW. :D Hopefully I can talk my two friends into dressing up, too.
 
Me!! I am totally planning on it, but none of my friends will be cool enough to join me. :P
I dunno what I'm going to do though. I remember someone on here gave me the idea of being an English schoolgirl. . .
What else is there that we can dress up as?
 
nope..i live in a little podunk town, we had a grand total of 3 people dress up for pirates..and you all KNOW how big a deal THAT was...i doubt they'll even have a midnight showing :(

if i could go to a bigger theatre, with a group of Narnia fans i'd dress up though!
 
^I know what you mean...I like to go the the theatres in the nearest big city when I have the chance (and the gas money) to go there. Theres just something about the atmosphere of a large theatre filled with psycho Narnia/HP/Pirates fans or whatever the big movie is.

I REALLY like the English schoolgirls uniform idea. If I can find someone to do it with me, Im game! If not I'll just probobly wear a t-shirt or something homeade like that...

At the TMNT premiere at my hometown theatre, some guys from school dressed up to the nines as the turtles....THAT was interesting! :p

A full suit of armor would be an AWESOME costume but wouldnt be very comfortable.....plus everytime you would move everyone would give you dirty looks,.,.,."I am Prince Caspian" <clink> <clang> <clunk> :D

Another disadvantage to that is that it will cause metal detectors to go off everytime you walk nearby causing dark suited, sunglass wearing, bulky men to lunge at you, so that by the time you arrive at the theater, you will look like if you have already been in the Battle of Beruna, and lost!:D

I no longer have to worry about that. I was disowned a long, long time ago, so ya, I am dressing up.
 
I was Mrs. Beaver in our church production of LLW, so of course I'll be dressing up as Mrs. Beaver to see PC!! Haha, stage make-up, tail, the whole works. It'll be great! And Mr. Beaver is doing likewise! :D

BarbarianKing, you're right about the metal detecters! Hee hee...For spirit week at my school, we had a "Decades Day" and four guys dressed as knights from like the 1400's...It was awesome but very noisy and a nuisciance (sp?),,,,but they won!

I should get some black hair extensions, get some chain mail armor, take my replica of Rhindron and march into the theater shouting "For Narnia." :D
 
I would love to dress up (medival-style shirt and pants with a lion-crest tunic) but its hard enough to convince my friends who are mild Narnia fans (liked the movie, never cared to read the books) to go with me to a midnight showing as it is without being dressed up lol! :)
 
Well why not?

I don't see any reason not to dress up really. Except for the fact I'll probably be going to the premier by tram and I would be running the risk of looking like I was a complete tosser.
 
I would love to dress up, but I'm afraid it will be quite difficult to find the right attire. That and I don't think the theater would like me bring my replica of Rhidron (A.K.A Peter's Sword).
