has anyone ever read th eartemis fowl series
i just wondered if im the only one that has in this big world
the movies r coming out in a few years
i cant wait to see them

Yep. My brother got me into them-- so far I've read the first and second books, and decoded the thingy at the bottom of the pages in the first one. Have you done that? It's pretty neat, and not too hard once you get the hang of it. I'm looking forward to those movies, but I hope they don't overdo them. A book like that would be easy to ruin by trying to make it too colorful and kidsy, like the travesty of Ella Enchanted.

I have all three books. Read them a while ago. Got to talk to Eoin Colfer while on study leave just after he released his second book. Thats how I got into them. He gave me a copy of the first one.

no i never got around to decoding the bottom of the pages
:(
but that is really cool that u met eoin
i reall like hi sother book that come out in may
its called the supernaturalist
it was really good

I've seen 'em at the store, and I always feel like I should check into 'em, but now I'm gonna see what you guys have to say about the series (i.e., what's the basic plot, setting, characters, etc..)

plot is interesting
and its written in an alright fashion
but basicaly what i love about hte books
are the carachters!!!
artemis foul is like
a veery cool kid
its worth checking out just for this catachter

They were much better than I thought they'd be. But don't trust people when they tell you "it's like Harry Potter with fairies"-- it's just as good, but it's got a very different feel from Harry Potter.

I got the first two books from this friend of my mom's. I haven't read them, yet but hopefully, I will. ;)

Artemis Fowl was great. Butler was bloody hilarious and Foaly! hehe gotta love him. I hear they're making a movie but i'm not so sure if that's a good thing. Yea they totally ruined Ella Enchanted and I LIKED that book too. Eh well one can always hope that they'll do a better job with this.

I haven't got around to reading them yet. Sounds like they're pretty cool though, ill have to keep an eye out.

He ended the third book so that it could either be the end of the series, or if he decided to write more books, He could continue it on when Artemis was a few years older.

So, I hope he does write more. It would be interesting to read of Artemis when he was older, and had even better plans to trick the faries.

I just read the first book (in one afternoon.. geez) and i really liked it. Obviously they are written for an age group slightly below mine.. but no worries, still cool. I identify with Artemis.. 12 year old criminal mastermind.. exactlywhat i wanted to be at that age.

He also reminds me strongly of Omega. MFNers will get that.
