Hi Guys

I am new to this cool forum and was wondering what everyone thought about our favourite lion Aslan?

I myself see him as Godlike, powerful, and above all a Great King.

What do you all think?? :D

I find that he is much too Christ-like, and that he gets a bit tedious when he says all that religious stuff. But other than that he's coo-.

Well, he was suposed to be christ in the books so of course he's going to be "christ like".
Yeah but it's just kinda annoying. It's particularly heavy in VODT when he gives that little speech at the end. And at least twice he comes and saves the day just by being there, which kinda ruins the tension a little bit.

For those of us who believe he represents Christ in Narnia (and that included the author CS Lewis) we expect him to be religious.

When it's your life he's saving, it won't be tedious. ;)

Religious sayings of Aslan

It's really hard to call the sayings of Aslan 'religious'. 'Religious' implies a strict sense of rote responses to certain (usually moral) stimuli. As the strongest type of Christ is all of literature, it would be more accurate to say (to those who believe in Christianity) that Aslan's words are truth and light. Indeed, it's hard to call 'religion' the way Aslan explains Christian principles. Geting over 'religion' can be very difficult. Look how popular the King James bible, published in 1611, still is with all it's 'thees' and 'thous'. Some would even go as far as to say that it's the only acceptable bible for our times!

In my opinion:
Aslan is God
It's as simple as that.

But that's just what I think. (and what Jack thought)
Don't hate me for it.
Lol.

We love him dearly. :D

I think that Aslan is like God. U kno he is always there and u feel at peace around him. But that's just me. I think that C.S. Lewis made Aslan like God for a reason.

I think that Aslan was an issential (sp) character, and it wouldn't be LWW without him. When the Pevensies first arrive at the camp and first see him, the music that they added was AWESOME! It made it easier to spot the respect that everbody has for him! I also like the way he holds his head. Arrogantly, almost haughtly. Really powerful meaning with Aslan in the movie!! LOVE IT!!

I think that they casted the perfect person for Aslan. I think his name was Liam Nelson or something like that. Please tell me. :)

Yes, it's Liam Neeson. He's an Irish actor, and was in many movies, including Kingdom of Heaven. I wrote a fan letter to him for the Narnia members here who are big fans of Aslan....if you go to the Aslan fan section of the site ( under Cast and Crew) you can see a copy of the letter there.
