Mara bounced back in the room, fully dressed, with a calender that Brin had made her with her birthday marked on it. "Daddy, are you going to be back on my birthday?" She asked handing him the calender and pointing to her birthday which was at the end of the week.

"Because sometimes it's easier than getting my hopes up," Lisa replied. She sighed. "I'm sorry... are you going to be able to make it?"

Lisa stood, saying, "So I can know whether I should be ready to comfort my daughter if her father can't make it to her birthday."

"Here's the thing lisa," he said taking the suitcase off the bed, "you've already made it up in your mind that I won't make it. so why should I desterb your plans? just count on the fact that I am a loser of a father and I wont make it, " he headed for the bedroom door, "and if I make it back," he said turning towards her, "well it weill just be a surprise."

Lisa closed her eyes and shook her head after he left. "Happy anniversary," she called after him. "Have a good trip."

Brin was glad to be out of the house and away from her dad. she hated what he did but she also hated the way her mom put up with it just as much. at least she would be able to see her boyfriend today. the thought alone brought a smile to her face ash the school came into view. he was 18, a senior, and he had asked her out at seven months ago. it had been a good relationship, a solid rock so to speek away from her family.

OCC: dose he have a name??

He stood in the yard waiting for her, as he did every morning. She turned to corner and looked up at him, he looked back and smiled, then made his way toward her.

ooc: I ws goingto let you name him

she could feel herself start to smile like an idiot as she picked up her pace. he made her day seem perfect somehow despite everything else.
