Awkward Moments for Narnia fans

I was like that once! We were watching the movie at a camp once that lasted 4 weeks (NEVER going back there again.) and I have only seen the movie one other time. So when the first scene came up people around me were like "It's the Chronicles of Narnia" and I was thinking to myself "How the heck is THIS Narnia? there's a war going on!" Then I recognized the movie once I saw the characters running out of the house! xD

Hah! ...priceless... Ugh I had another awkward moment but I forgot it!!

The first time I saw the movie I was like 'Mom are we in the right theater room?' when the first seen came up... I think I covered my eyes or somethin' till my mom said, 'Look there's one of the kids' when Edmund was whatching the bombing in the window.:p:D

Yeah 2nd one that didn't happen... I think most people who'd seen the 1st one were braced for the first scene then.;)

When I went to the premiere of PC, I had gone to a bookstore earlier that day in order to kill some time before the movie started.

In order to celebrate the premiere in style I had bought this shirt. While I was walking around the bookstore, one of the people working there stopped me and asked me about my shirt.

"Why does that say Asian on it? I thought Asian lions looked different than that."

When I explained it was "Aslan, from the CoN", my comment was returned with a half-blank stare. The employee (remember this is a bookstore) had never heard of the books, but asked if it had something to do with "that movie" (I assumed PC). When I explained the movie was based on the books the employee just nodded and said "oh" and walked off.

These all make me lmbo!!! (laugh, my, butt, off)
Here's mine:-

Me and my friends are both mad on Narnia. So in her back garden, like the sad children we are, we were acting it out.
We were having some fun on the bit where (in PC) they raid Miraz's castle. At that very moment my friends Uncle jumps over the hedge makin us sream!
He said, "ASLAN IS HEEEEEEEERE!!!!!!!!!" We then realised her was dressed as a tiger, not a lion like Aslan.

There was this one time where I volunteered to do a prayer for Youth Sunday. Well after that I had to sing in church at the next service, so I decided to go to Sunday school in between. So after I had my donut I went across the street to the building where my Sunday school class was held, and when I got there it said that it was in the choir room at the church that day. So I went down into the choir room and took a seat, and right next to me I saw the Prince Caspian DVD. I was like "NO WAY!!!!!!!!!! WE'RE WATCHING NARNIA?!?!?!?!?!?!?!  " and my Sunday school teacher said "Guess so." I started freaking out and running down the hallways and around the room, and people just looked at me like I was weird. Then I found out that they actually started watching the movie the week before, so I got mad because I was too lazy to go to sunday school. So when I came home I went into my room and rewatched the entire movie. :p The next week we finished the movie, and I actually had to stick my head in snow in order to calm myself down! xP

*sigh* I had another awkward moment today, and this one is sort of sad. I am currently reading Voyage of the Dawn Treader(very good book BTW,) and when someone saw me reading it on the bus he immediately started saying "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" in a very phony manner, all throughout the ride. I kept telling him to stop, but he continued to do it. So I started swearing at him, and he still did it. So then I threatened to hit him with my tennis racket, and I got yelled at from the bus driver. I kept yelling at him to shut up, but he still continued to say it. Then the bus driver started getting mad and so she started yelling at everyone to be quiet, but then the kids started arguing with her. A few boys even recorded themselves saying "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" on their cellphones, and saved them as ringtones. Now I feel so embarrassed that everyone knows I'm reading Narnia. I don't even WANT to take the bus home anymore. Why does all of the awkward moments happen to me? :(

awww *huggles CG*

ok, this was kinda awkward....ahem. Well, when LWW first came out my lead pastor at the time was talking about it and how it reflects the Bible. He kept on saying "Tomnus" instead of "Tumnus" and he asked if he was right, and one person was like "Yeah, it's Tomnus." Well, every time he said "Tomnus" I cringed and had a weird look on my face, and he's like "This is driving you insane, isn't it, Amy?" and I'm like "yeah...it's Tumnus. T-U-mnus." After the service, everyone was like talking to me on how I corrected the pastor in the middle of his sermon....lol

Another time, like...2 weeks after the one above, Narnia was used again, but this was during youth group...and the guy talking, he was a teen leader not the youth pastor, kept on saying "Peter, Elizabeth, Edwin, and Lucy"...someone corrected him about Susan, but he kept on either saying "Edwin or Edward"!!! gahhhhh...*ahem* well, anyway, I was sitting in the back so Andy couldn't see how frustrated I was with all this, but a couple people around me saw me mouthing "Ed-mund! Ed-MUND!!!!!" with arms flailing about at times, and they kept on giving me wierd looks...yeah....totally drove me mad.

Dear friend, they're just jealous because you can read. They probably require picture books. Narnia rocks! Don't feel ashamed because those kids are behaving in a pathetic manner. *hugs* Ignore them if possible.

As for me, an akward Narnia moment....wow...there are just too many! Most people know I'm a book purist overall. I like movies, but I'm a "stick to the books" kind of gal. So one of the more akward moments was when a bunch of us were watching Prince Caspian in the theater and about 30 people errupted into boos at the Caspian/Susan kiss....and I didn't start it! I turned around rather suprised and laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair. It was funny!

My husband is like one of the boys on the bus and doesn't read! He knew I was so excited for Narnia LWW film to come out because I wouldn't shut up about it -- back in 2005, you know. So the trailer was going to be broadacst on ABC family or something during one of the HP movies, and I was tryng to watch but it was going on forever and I had stuff to do, so I finally gave up and went to take a bath. A few minutes later my husband comes in all"

"You just missed the trailer!"

And I'm all, "No way! What was it like?!"

And he says, "OK, it started with this green meadow and mountains in the background, and over the mountains comes flying this big blue Narnia --"

He never read the book and didn't even know what Narnia was! He thought it was an animal of some kind. And he was just making this all up. I could have smacked him one! But I was in the tub.

They showed the trailer on ABC Family? Drat!!! I was too young to even know that stuff back then.

LOL! Yah -- I think it was during a Harry Potter movie. I didn't see it! And neither did my husband! I had to watch it online the next day. It was so exciting! I watched it over and over, and every time the 3 kids knelt in front of Aslan I got this lump in my throat, I was about to cry ... from the trailer .... yah, awkward!

Wow! Do you think that you could send a clip of it for me?

(Why must the majority of the awkward moments have to happen to me? D: )

Anyways, today in science I was goofing off with a kid that I hate but I believe has a crush on me. So at our lab station we were sorting out different kinds of rocks and all of a sudden we started talking about what we should kill each other with. So then the kid starts immitating a gun, and I'm like "I'm more of a bow and arrow person," and I pretended to shoot a bow and arrow. Then I said "no wait, I'm more of a sword person," and pretended to swing a sword. Then the kid said "You just want to live in Narnia so that you can start dating Prince Caspian," and I said "... yeah,"

Then at lunch, I saw my friend looking at some Werewolf drawings, and so I said "Did you draw Jacob?" and she pointed to her friend who was sitting next to her. Then I said "You guys support Team Jacob don't you?" and they were like "YEAH!!! Team Jacob rules!!" and I replied "but only because you think that Taylor Lautner's hot!" and they both said "Yep!" so then I said that I supported team Edward, and all of my friends and I started talking about Robert Pattinson, and how he and Taylor were so sexy, and I said "British people are hotter!!!" and they all just stared at me wide-eyed and said "What did you just say?" and I started bawling with laughter and said "Nevermind," but my friend was suspicious and said "Say it," so I said it again and they were all like "No they're not!!" and I said "Yeah, they are!!!" It was pretty awkward alright, yet hysterical at the same time.

Haha basically the same thing happened to me 'cause my sis was talking on and on about the Jonas Brothers to our friend over the phone and I was busy playing LWW on my Nintendo DS. And it was soo funny because I told my sis to tell our friend that in my video game Edmund "popped his collar." :p And then we all started cracking up and it was really awkward but also funny. And my sis said that she doubted a British guy would ever pop his collar and then my friend started talking about some British guy at her school who always popped his collar, lol. And then they went on talking about the Jonas Brothers...and my sis was all of the sudden like, "I know why you like Narnia better than the Jonas Brothers!! 'Cause it's British!!" And then I was like, "No, because it's civilized. Unlike you two freaks." And then we started laughing again and it was still really awkward. :D

I don't know if it's online anymore -- this was back in 2005 when the first trailers for LWW came out; they were on the Disney website. I don't know if they're there anymore.

Ah, it's still at Movie Phone - here's a link

you weren't a fan back before LWW film?

Not really. Actually, I used to be afraid of Narnia! xD I almost didn't go see it with my school because I thought that it would be too scary, but then I took a chance and loved it!!! I just didn't become obsessed with it until PC, then I got out of it for awhile, then I got back into the movies after watching PC in Sunday School.

This made me laugh! I've never had an aquard Narnia moment... Maybe I'm not a big enough fan... I guess if I re-read Narnia instead of re-reading Fruits Basket or Eragon I might become a bigger fan......

Haha I like that trailer, lol. I remember it, strangely. Even though the last time I've seen it was probably when I was eight or around that age.

You got to watch PC in Sunday School?! NO FAIR!! :D And the same thing happened to me! :D I thought Narnia was scary when I first saw the trailer for LWW but then I got a collector's edition book of The Magician's Nephew from my grandparents and loved it, and then of course I wanted to see LWW. And then of course I wanted all of the books and got them, and after I read 'em all I forgot about Narnia for a while until PC came out and I saw it in theaters with a bunch of kids from my school and remembered how much I loved it. :D
