Bernard Hill As King Miraz

I really think that he could pull it off. We've already seen him as a battle commander in "The Lord of the Rings" and he plays another complex role in "The Ghost in the Darkness".

Not sure about that, he seems too 'round', if you know what I mean, I've always seen Miraz as being quite a spikey chap, someone like a guy called Rufus Sewell - he was in A Knights Tale, and has a rather brooding, scary look about him

'Round' probably wasn't quite the right word, but he's always seemed a little to fatherly for me, he has this caring side to him which wouldn't fit Miraz that well, also the Telmarine connection, as i would imagine it doesn't seem to fit, seeing that they came from pirates, saying that if we were going for a dream/comedy Miraz, then Johnny Depp doing his Jack Sparrow would be pretty fun!

Just had a wee look around and found some pics of Rufus (such a good name!) He has aged a bit since these were taken, and make up can add many years - let me know what you reckon??

(and I'm not just suggesting him cos he's super attractive????)

If you think Hill is too "fatherly" you should watch "The Ghost and the Darkness".

And why shouldn't Miraz look the way Hill does. After all, the books are very clear on the fact that Caspian is a blonde.

Bernad hill could pull it off i think, but in danger of becoming too typecast as his last role as theoden is a similar part, except he's good in that not evil but if he was to play miraz he would end up looking almost exactly the same as he did playing theoden, the styles and the time era are too similar. But if he could pull it off without little kids going "look its the king from lord of the rings" when he walks on i think he will be great at the acting. (sorry if that made no sense, i'm very tired)
Rufus Sewell is far to young in my opinion.

I'll admit, Hill was great in Ghost in the Darkness, but I love the guy to much to play the villian. Somehow the man who was Theoden, King of Rohan, just doesn't hit me as the kinda guy who would kill his nephew....I'd much rather see him as King Lune (My origonal hope was that he would play the Professor, but that's out of the picture now.... :( )

Hmm. Maybe you're right, but it would be interesting to have seen him step up to the cheerfullness of the Professor; I think he could have pulled it off. (He just gives off an air of knowlage when you see him on screen...)

on that picture from rindhon he looks very great for king miraz it hinks that schould be a good choiche

Problem with this idea and the idea of karl urban. LOTR was done already. They need to find new people to fill these roles, because people will recognize them and it wont have the same affect, it wont work on the people, you may be able to see the people fit these parts and they may be able to, but people wont get past them already having been in a fantasy series of movies not long before this series comes out. So if you get my drift it wont happen for that reason and i think it shouldnt. Hope i dont sound like a prick or anything but thats just how i saw it when i saw both threads.

It is a very good point. He would be good, but there is the problem about having him holding a sword as an evil uncle after seeing him as a kind king. There are a few cases where it would work though. Someone like John Rhys Davies could pull it off because it's sometimes hard to remember he was Gimli when you see him without the beard, nose, voice, and axe.

I hope you arent still confused by what i wrote, as in the first line i mentioned THIS and then karl urban which was another thread you had. I think you figured out what i was talking about though.

PS If not let me know

My opinion he's not evil enough

My opinion he's not evil enough plus I rather have an actor that is not well known.
