CharnTim II (Please Do Not Delete)

You mean you didn't instantly notice where the name came from? *is shocked*

Mithrandir, Olórin, Gandalf, Tharkûn . . . .

I've never actually read that Tolkien book, but I knew that Olorin was from Tolkien.

I didn't either if you're talking about anything outside LotR and the Hobbit. but I'm getting there. I always knew what it was anyway

*eats pop tart*

It's in Chapter 5 of Book IV - The Window on the West

'The Grey Pilgrim?' said Frodo. 'Had he a name?'
'Mithrandir we called him in elf-fashion,' said Faramir, 'and he was content. Many are my names in many countries, he said. Mithrandir among the Elves, Tharkûn to the Dwarves; Olórin I was in my youth in the West that is forgotten, in the South Incánus, in the North Gandalf; to the East I go not.'

We're such horrid fan-girls:p

But, you know why we forgot it? Its cause it said "Olorin I was in my youth in the West, that is forgotten"

oh don't even get me started on good memory. (I currently have 7 books of the Bible memorized pretty much word for word...)
