ooc: AND BRAD SAVES THE DAY!!!
ic: Mark screamed. His father's sullen, enraged face stared back at him over the mahogany desk, ominous in the shadows cutting beneath his high cheekbones. He pulled the boy violently toward him with a mere flick of a finger, so that their faces were just inches apart.
"Mark," seethed the man. Mark could smell stale wine on his breath. "You have betrayed me."
Mark writhed in the tight, phantom manacles but the bonds held fast, constricting him with tighter force like the muscular trunk of a rattlesnake.
"I'll give these girls one more chance," he growled. "One more chance, or their souls are mine forever. The traps will be more gruesome this time--so gruesome, in fact, that I will be feasting on their very heads tomorrow night if they cannot escape the mansion. Mark," he said, pulling the boy's face ever closer to his, so that their noses touched. "They will not escape this time."
And with that, the man flicked a bony finger and sent Mark sailing through the darkness, hurtling through a web of hallways and landing in a broken heap at the foot of the grand staircase.
