Commoners and Peasants( everything from taxes to unwanted marriages)

Will shoved his friend off of him. " I have to support them! They have no one! And soon, I'll be getting married, so will you. What will you do with a family? It's not like you'll have any money!"

Derek stepped back, shocked at his friend's rage. "I never said you didn't have to support them! But would your mother be happy if she knew this is how you obtained money? And what's this about me getting married?!" he said, throwing his arms up. though he calmed down a bit, lowering his head. "Brio and I are moving to the forest..." he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
 
alexandria and isabella arrived at their mansion as isabellas maid came up to them "emily hide fathers present" isabella said "yes miss randolf" emily said politley as emily went upstairs just then victoria isabelles and alexandrias mother came into the parlor "hello girls how was shopping" dutchess victoria said "it was good we got father his birthday present" alexandria said

Derek nodded. "Yeah. There's no worries about money in the forests, and the King's men are dead scared to go in their. That means no one's recruited. We can farm our own food, and build another home. Brio's as strong as any man, so she'll be loads of help. We'll be free, Will." he said, still not able to meet his friends eyes.
 
" I'll be alone, Derek. And then I wouldn't be able to...to." William sighed, hating his life right now. " Derek, just, please, there must be another way. I can't come to see you!" And I can never marry Brio, she porbably hates me and my limp. Probably thinks me too weak...

Derek shook his head. "Like what?" he asked. "Will, why don't you and your family come also?" he asked. "It'd mean so much to us..."

just then the dukes messengers began knocking on peoples doors telling that all the towns people are invited to the dukes birthday banquet

I can't come with, I have seven sisters under thirteen that need to grow up here. Derek...you should have known." William began to turn to leave. " I'm going to the Duke's birthday celebration, and I'm not comming back empty handed."

Derek, his mouth wide open in a gawk, stepped towards his best friend, turning back around. "Are you serious? This is BRILLIANT!! Why do you think she's always tried not to notice you? So you wouldn't know. " Derek laughed. "She was going to tell you before we left. She said she wouldn't be able to bear it if she didn't..." he said, smiling in that brotherly sort of fashion.
 
William tried not to grin, but it overcame his face. " Well, what am I supposed to do? My mum can't handle the girls by herself. I would come with, but only if...well. Do you think..." William laughed. " Would she mind me living with you, especially if..." William blushed. " We're not married or anything."

ooc. It's medival times...being married before living together was huge...so yeah...:D

Derek laughed. "Just being near you sends her into lala land. I'm sure she won't mind. Though it will be awkward for me..." he laughed. "But, your not supposed to know, and she knows nothing yet, alright?" he said, before a man knocked on their door, inviting them to the birthday party....
 
William held the invatation. " You'll have to watch me. I might steal a wedding ring." William grinned, hoping Derek knew he was joking. " I'll stop know, I don't know anything."

Derek waved his hand at his friend. "necklaces are worth more.." he joked also. "what do you mean, you don't know anything..." Derek laughed. He looked out a open window. "We both should be heading home. Besides, if i want to get to this party on time...." he laughed.
 
William nodded and limped towards the door. " I hope my mum doesn't kill me." He sighed. William walked all the way home.
" Mum..." william yelled walking in the door.
" Mmhmm?" His mother walked in, holding the youngest Danielle. " Can you hold her?" She whispered. William took Danielle, one and a half, and held her sleeping.
" Mum, Derek and Brio are fleeing into the forest, I'm going with, and I want to marry Brio."
" Will?" William's mother hugged him. " This is good, and bad. You could be hurt, and...hurt. You have no money."
" We don't need any, we can farm the land their, we don't need any money. And I'll be with Brio, and Derek...and Brio."
William's mother looked and Danielle and him. " Well, I give you my blessing."
" Are you sure mum, you don't exactly have money."
" I'm engaged!"
" What?"
" Yes, and he's a lord!"
William felt he could faint.
 
Derek ran home, now the rain had stopped. when he opened the door, he found Brio, sitting by a candle, writing in a small diary their father had given her before he died. It took all his self control to put on a straight face. "Hi Brio..." he said. She looked up. "How was the smithy?" she asked, as he went to his room to change. "Fine. Sold a sword, for how much I don't know. Plus there's a birthday party going on, and I was invited." he said, entering the room again. Brio smiled. "Oh, really? A young lady become of age now, eh?" she teased, and Derek shook his head, knowing he was being poked at...
 
ooc. Can we go to the party?

William put Danielle to bed and got ready for the party. He didn't have any fancy clothes, just clean ones. He hoped Brio would be there.

ic: Derek laughed as him and his sister walked down the road. "Yeah, we have to stop and get Will also. He's coming along." Derek said, and he swore he could almost feel Brio's excitement and nervousness rise. "Oh, that's nice." she said, trying to keep her voice as calm and slow as possible, so her brother wouldn't find out her secret...
