Cosplay! For all you cosplayers out there! ^_^

Didn't notice any threads like this and I was all like "Hey! What kind of forum doesn't have a cosplay thread?!" And so I had to start one with my little sister, NarniaFan95. For those who don't know that term, cosplay is short for Costume Play, meaning u dress up as a character from a video game, movie, book, manga, or anime and act as that character. For me, it's a fun excuse to dress up on days other than Halloween. <3
Here you can discuss cosplay in all it's glory, post your cosplay photos, or links to your own cosplay galleries on the web, talk about the characters you've cosplayed, or what characters you want to cosplay in the future. ^_^ Because we all know that cosplaying is awesome.
To start, I've been cosplaying since I was in...7th grade?...and I started with Rikku from Final Fantasy X. Since then, I've moved to my more famous one-PoTC pirate- and lesser known ones. I've done Erik- also known as the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera, Reno from Final Fantasy VII, Tonks from Harry Potter, the general J-rocker, a random elf from LOTR, Jedi Knight from Star Wars(luke's black outfit and his tan outfit)... and more that I can't remember. Often, me and my younger brother will tackle NarniaFan95 and dress her up, and then I take pictures of her after our brother poses her. XD She'll tell u more about her cosplay. Her most recent one is Misa, from Death Note... I proudly tackled her with that one today. XD

So, how many proud cosplayers do we have here at TDL? Come on! I know ur out there!!! Do we have any Narnia cosplayers? Or from a different fandom that's new to me? Lemme see them and let's talk!!!

I am here! Yes, I'm DarthKat's little sister, Beth, though some of you know me as Liz. Yeah, to tell you the truth the first time I really cosplayed was when I dressed up as Munkustrap (sp?) from the musical "Cats" when I was little. Then I used to dress as Mulan from the Disney movie, 'Mulan"....Hence the name...Anyway, the next time I cosplayed was in 2006 when my brother, Dan and my older sister, Kat (DarthKat) made a Vincent Valentine (from Final Fantasy 7) costume for me...Then we took a ton of pictures. I've been dressing up and stuff with my siblings for a looooonng time. The next time, I was Aeris from Final Fantasy 7 but it was a blue-jean dress and black jacket, but it was still really close. Then in this past summer I dressed up as Wrath from Fullmetal Alchemist. I even cut off the toes of a black pair of socks! I cosplay as ALOT of guys, which I don't mind, but I was glad when Kat dragged me into her room and dressed me up as Misa from Death Note. It's a female I can cosplay as just as well as Vincent or Wrath. Despite the fact that Misa is Light's girlfriend, I really kinda like the idea of dressing as someone of my own gender.
Then last May, I proudly donned a pirate costume with Kat to go see Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Lol, we went twice in a row. Kat was known as Pirate Girl in High School cause she wore pirate clothes to school all of the time. People began t know her for it and voila, she continued and wore other cosplays to school.

lol, Yeah, I didn't actually have Misa's clothes, so I threw her into the closest thing I have. XD It was fun, even if her hair did take forever for me to get it where I was satisfied and she kept laughing when I was taking the serious pics. It was a great photoshoot. XD I got some of the best Misa pics that way!

I made her freeze just so I could take this picture. It was -5 F outside, but the lighting is soo awesome when it's wintery and snowy out! So I shover her onto our front deck to take a couple pics...with me standing in the house of course. XD I only took two, and she came in in between shots, so I didn't abuse her or anything. lol This was the best of the 2 and it was accidental cuz i still had my flash on...hence it was too bright almost. XP

Our brother posed her for this one. He and I had seen a pic where Light had a scyth, and he did this one for Misa. Idk if there's really a meanin behind it or not..make ur own story! ^_^

Had her lay on our living room floor whilst I stood above her on a stool... took about 5 shots to get a decent one. XP I like it tho!

This had to be the most frustrating shot to take EVER! We must have taken it at least 20 times. Either I kept cutting her head off(we were on the staircase and I was a few steps below her) or I forgot the flash, or she wasn't ready and was caught off guard, or something else altogether.. we managed to salvage two shots of the 20-something tho. XD

Come on cosplayers! Don't be shy!!!
 
Goodness these could get rather involved, couldnt' they? Love the Phantom one, by the way. I love that mask with a burning passion...
 
Yesh, cosplay is a rather consuming activity, but it's sooo much fun! It'll be funner once more people start posting pics. >_>

And thanks! I have two masks, both that I made out of a plastic full facial mask: one that I wear, one that hangs on my wall as a back up mask. Double sided tape works wonders... I get the strangest looks when i wear the mask to town. <_< That cosplay was put together in about 5 minutes... in the morning of Liz's party at school. I had black gloves and a black cloak, but I didn't bother putting them on for the pictures. Helps to be interested in dressing like that all the time... lol!
 
I always thought it looked very good... I've never participated in anything of the sort, but would like to one day. :) It reminds me of the Live Action Roleplaying Games a little, too.
