Critics throw Rotten Tomatoes at Tron Legacy

It's scaring me, too. But I can't stop hoping. :o

Same here. I hear that DT performed disappointingly in the USA and Great Britain, but I hear it performed quite well in other countries. There are some movies that don't have a huge opening, but keep a steady flow viewers during its theatre life. Maybe this will be one of those. As for Tron, I never even watched the original from start to finish.

Christmas weekend Tron stayed ahead of VODT, but VODT remained strong in 4th place ahead of Yogi and that stupid movie with Jack Black, Gulliver whatever.

That other movie with Ben Stiller (I can't even bring myself to say the name of it) is #1. It figures, since people today are really nasty and profane. True Grit is #2 (I would like to watch that one just to see the performance of the new girl actress, they say it's really good).

Maybe there's hope for more Narnia after all.

Oh yes, I was very happy to see the box office numbers...Gulliver's Travels was a huge disaster, apparently.

I couldn't bring myself to watch True Grit because it's a remake of a classic with John Wayne (not that I liked the original any...the snakes turned me off); just the principle of the matter. :p They say that the girl who plays Mattie Ross could be up for an Oscar in February. Not sure if it's for Best Actress or Best Supporting Actress.

I am glad to see Dawn Treader surpass Yogi Bear. Perhaps when Fox sees how poorly their Gulivers Travels movie did they will reconsider when the assess the success of Dawn Treader. It has been holding out very well.

Oh, I do hope so!!!! *faints with emotional strain*

This news about VotDT is scaring me. It better stay in theaters until january - I'm waiting for my penpal to visit before I see it!

In kansas it stays in till january 6th.

But come on guys face it,our franchise sucks so hard.
I've tried and I've REALLY REALLY tried to find some sort of mass appeal in there and there's none.
I read every single review on RT...problem is,its half and half.
Mostly the suck-up reviewers liked it though....who knows.
but as far as Tron goes with Hype, they win 1st. And those other two films Yogi and Gulliver..should've never seen the light of day.

I think 2010 has just had a bad crop this year, maybe some amazing movies will come out NEXT year and maybe SC will be totally mind blowing and ACTUALLY turn a profit...a BIGGER profit...

don't quote me..my opinion is in and nobody is going to say otherwise.
January 6th is the day I saw LWW for the first time, and became officially obsessed with Narnia. :)

I will refrain from making other comments on your post. I assume what I said is innocuous enough that you won't be bothered that I quoted you. ;)

After you edited your post, there's something I want to say... there were great movies this year! More that I want to see than any other! Tangled, How to Train your Dragon, Toy Story 3, The Legend of the Guardians, Megamind... I imagine that many families feel run-dry financially, and don't want to go back to the theater again. I know that this is the case with one of my good friends. Her family spent more than $50 to see Tangled in 3D, and are now going to wait until VDT comes out on DVD.
