Cinthia woke up and relized that Austin was next to her bed. "What are you doing in my room?" Cinthia asked.

"sorry I just wanted to know how you were." Austin said.

"Im fine thanks. Oh by the way do you know if theres any weapons around here ?I need to practice my sword fighting."

"First your sneaking on my fathers ship then you want his weapons! Hes not a weapons dealer!"

Cinthia looked confused "First your mean then your nice. Witch are you?"

"Im nice!" Austin ansered harshly.

"All I want is a knife!"

"If I give you one you better show me some respect! You also must tell me why you need weapons!"

"Alright Ill give you Respect. And I amgoing in battle so i need to practice my sword fighting!"

"Your going in battle?"

"Yes!"

"Well then I guess I could go get the weapons with my fathers permisson." He left Cinthias room.

Alzira stood in line at the messhall, got her food, then went to one of the empty tables since she didn't really know anyone else there. She wished that Kathryn or Acela was with her. While she ate she thought to herself, I'll send a message to Acela tomorrow and see what she's up to.

After she was done eating her breakfast, she decided to just go ahead and send Acela a message to see what she was up to. She got a piece of paper from her room, went to the place where the pigeons were kept, and wrote a letter that said:

Hey Acela: I was just wondering what you were up to. I wish we were on the same ship so we can talk face-to-face instead of through letters with pigeons. Anyway, how are you faring on this trip? I'm faring pretty well but I have to admit that I'm a bit bored. Wish you were here and I'll see you once we reach Faerence.

~Alzira

She then tied the letter to the pigeon's leg and let it go through the ship's window.

Cinthia was waiting for Austin to come back with a knife. She heard the door open it was Austin.

"Heres what you wanted. Austin handed Cinthia the knife.

"Thanks." said Cinthia.

Austin took out a knife. "I bet I could beat you in knife fighting!"

Cinthia smiled and said "It wouldnt be fair because Ive practiced more than you."

Austin smiled "you couldnt beat me in knife fighting! Besides you have to practice with someone."

Cinthia clanged her knife across his.

Austin then took his knife and clanged it across Cinthias knife.

Cinthia took her knife and knocked Austins to the floor. Then she picked Austins knife up and pointed it at him.

"Alright you win just put those knifes down."

Cinthia put the knifes down and started to laugh. "You thought you could beat me."

"How did you learn to knife fight?"

"My father tought me. But you did good besides I have practiced alot."

"Well I best get going bye Cinthia."

"Bye Cinthia shouted while he walked out of her room.

Acela got Alzira's note, and smiled, she wrote back;

Hi Alzira,
I am doing well, I wish we could talk face to face as well. I wish you were not bored. I am just glad we get to see the sky more now. I hope to talk to you soon.

Your Friend,
Acela

Alzira received Acela's letter and replied:

Hey Acela: That's good. I wish that too but I'm glad that I can walk out on the deck at night and see the moon and the stars reflecting off of the ocean water. It's really pretty. That makes some of my boredom go away. During the day, I watch the birds fly above the water and watch the waves. I haven't seen dolphins or whales yet but I hope to soon. That'd be a sight to see. Hope to hear from you again.

Your friend,
Alzira

Then she tied it back to the pigeon's leg and sent it back to Acela.

While Alzira waited for Acela's reply, she went back up to the deck to walk around and to observe the pretty sky, water, and the birds flying around. She hoped to see dolphins, porpoises, and whales soon.

Acela smiled at the letter, and replied;

Alzira,

I agree about the moon, it is lovely as well, I enjoy seeing the sky more and the water, I hope to see some water animals and such as well. Oh, I forgot to tell you, Flame and I are engaged! I hope to hear from you soon.

Acela

While Alzira was looking out at the water, she saw the pigeon come back with a replied letter from Acela. She read it and replied:

Acela,

Yes and I hope to see some water life before our journey ends. That's wonderful news! I'm so happy for the two of you! I hope you have a wonderful life together and to hear from you soon.

~Alzira

She then retied it to the pigeon's leg and sent it back to Acela.

She saw the pigeon come and caught in in her hands, she replied.

Alzira,

Thank you very much, I hope to see them as well, but its good we have almost three months on these ships, so we are bound to see at least one animal.

Acela

She tied the rolled up piece of paper to the pigeon and released it.

Alzira saw the pigeon come back, caught it in her hands, placed it on the rail, and replied:

Acela,

You're very welcome. Three months is a long time on these ships but hopefully we'll see at least a couple of them on our way to Faerence. I've only seen seagulls and pelicans so far, as far as wildlife goes.

~Alzira

She then picked up the pigeon, tied the letter to its leg, and sent it back to Acela.

While Alzira waited for the pigeon to come back, she looked out across the water. She spotted something far out in the waves that looked like a fin popping up out of the water. She then saw a few more following it and thought to herself, Either those are dolphins, porpoises, or sharks but at least I've seen something other than birds. One of the black shapes leaped out of the water at that moment and back in and she figured that they were porpoises playing with each other and decided to tell Acela in her next letter.

Alzira saw the pigeon come while she was on deck and was prepared to catch it when it came to her. As it came closer, she put her hands out, caught it, and replied:

Acela,

I saw some porpoises today playing far from the boat in the waves. I hope they come your way so you can see them. Hope to hear back from you.

~Alzira

She then sent the pigeon on its way to Acela.

As Alzira waited for Acela to reply to the letter, she thought she'd go to bed a little early so she didn't sleep till noon the next day. She left the deck and went to her room, got ready for bed, tucked herself underneath the covers, and fell straight to sleep.

Arcturus in the meantime accompanied the first mate around the ship and was learning the art of sailing in the high seas. He didn't hesitate to ask questions from the crew about the names of different objects and parts of the ship, as well as the maneuvers and orders of battle.
