Cinthia was a little bit hungry. She decided to go eat at the mess hall. When she got there she saw Austin leaving the area with a fishing pole. She decided to follow him, but tried to keep enough distance so that it wouldnt look like they were hanging out together. "I don't want him to get in trouble with his father."
She had to quickly hide whenever Austin would look back. After awhile, Austin stopped by the deck and flung the string attatched to the rod into the water. Suddenly Austin turned around and saw Cinthia.
"What are you doing here?" Austin asked.
"I'm sorry, but I wanted to see you. Your the only one around my age here."
"How old are you anyway?" Austin asked, looking into the water in hopes of catching a bite.
"Thirteen."
"I'm fourteen, but I'll turn fifteen in about four months. You know if my father saw us together..."
Cinthia looked down. "Yes, I know....should I leave."
A smirk came across Austin's face. "No. My father, while a good man, is making a mistake in trying to keep us apart. We can still see each other, but just in secret."
Cinthia smiled and walked up next to Austin as he was reeling in the hook.
"Drat." he muttered. "The fish took the bait."
Cinthia touched the rod. "May I?"
"Uh, sure." Austin said nervously, putting a worm onto the hook.
Cinthia cast the line into the water. Austin smiled. "Of course, if I cant catch anything you probably can't either."
"Oh, I wouldnt be too sure." Cinthia said. Suddenly she felt a tug on the line. "I GOT ONE!" she said with delight and surprise.
"Quick reel it in!" Austin yelled. Cinthia quickly reeled the fish in. It had shiny purple scales. Cinthia got the fish off the hook and held it as it squirmed. "What do I do with it?"
"We kill it. Its going to be for food."
"Um, you can kill it." Cinthia said a little grossed out.
"You know, your actually not to bad at this fishing thing." Austin said.
"Well I-" Cinthia stopped as she heard footsteps quickly coming toward them.
"Hide behind the barrel!" Austin screamed. Cinthia ran behind the barrel and hid. "If this is Austin's father, were going to get it!" she thought as the footsteps came closer.
Austin looked at the person coming. It was Sienna. "Good day your majesty." he said as she walked by. Once she was out of sight Austin gave a sigh of relief.
