Favorite Scene From The Lotr Movies

Like with characters it is so hard to pick a favorite scene. I think the first one that comes to mind for me is when Merry and Pippin and Treebeard and the others all attacked Eisengard at the end of the second movie. Especially if you watch the ext. version where M & P find Sauramon's secret stash and celebrate at the end
Oh that secert stash scene, that is a great one!! So funny! The part when Saurman falls off the tower, and lands on the spike, owwwwww. That part was, unexpected.

fav scene is when Aragorn is talking to the dead spirits in the third movie. great peice of animation! i especially liked the tone of green the directer decided on. perfect for their roles

If I have ONE favourite scene, I think it would be the charge of the Rohirrim in ROTK, including Theoden's speech. Most of these epic movies involve some sort of cheesey "motivational" ditrade, but I actually found Theoden's to be moving. Also, "DEATH!!!!!" is just a cool pre-charge yell. It could either mean death to your enemies, or a defiant, sucicidal call showing how the army is willing to fight to the bitter end without fear.

I loved the "I am no man" line! It was wicked awesome. :D Though, I would have preferred if they used the book's wording "No living man am I". It probably would have sounded corny in the movie, but I just like the cadence better.

well i'm also a huge fan of tolkien too, i have many FAV.scenes but if i was to only pick one it would have to be when gandalf comes back becouse i i'm a had core gandalf fan.................

Sweet! Gandalf rocks my socks too! My favorite scene is at the end of the TT when the Rohirrim charge into the orcs. Mostly because I am in love with the music in that scene... I'm a huge film music junkie...

I also love the very last scene of RotK when Frodo leaves for the Grey Havens. I always feel like crying when I watch that part. Very well done stuff!

Rotk

Welcome, Evelien, I don't think I have seen you post before.

There are too many wonderful scenes in all the LOTR movies to pick a favorite, but one that is very cool to me:

When the black ships arrive and the orcs are expecting their evil reinforcements to help them win the battle for Gondor, but instead Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas leap over the side of the boat and advance (in slo-mo) on the orcs on the dock ...

That is just so unexpected (for the Orcs) and so superb visually. Love it!!!

My fave scene is the one with all the armies of the dead killing the armies of Mordor. That kicks ass.

The most disgusting scene is when Frodos in the bed and everyone comes in laffing even though theres no joke to laugh at. Are they all crazy? I cringed so much in the cinema watching that I had to hide under my seat!!!

the worst part of the movie was the 4 times the movie looked like it was going to end, but it just cut 2 another scene. wat makes it worse is when ur in a movie theatre and u have to go 2 the bathroom, but u don't want 2 miss anything. not a fun experience

(yay! a fellow Canadian) I remember a spot like that! It was when the eagles were rescuing the two hobbits on Mount Doom. The pause was a little too long and I feared the movie was about to end! Anyways, my favourite seen has to be the moment when Gandalf rode out of the White City to help Faramir from the Nazgul. The scene was so beautiful I nearly cried!

Hey, I'm Canadian too! And I can see Toronto across the lake from my home. ;)

Yeah, I'm not too fond of the multiple endings of ROTK, but I would have been mad if they had cut out the Grey Havens or Aragorn's coronation. I just wish the editing would have been better so these scenes wouldn't have all FELT like endings. We should have been able to feel like we knew more scenes were coming.

Man - that is so true!!!!! I think I counted 7 possible ending points before it actually did finish!!!!!!!!

The first time I saw it, as we were leaving the cinema, one of the college boys ahead of me said, "That ending went on way too long ... Someone should have gotten in another fight!"

Too true!
