Favourites from the Dawn Treader film

I must say, this film had a lot of amazing scenes, and those 5 times I saw the film on the cinema I never got bored! I love this film more than any other film and that has a lot to do with its scenes! :D

When I read the book I imagined most thongs very similar to the film! The book is my all time favorite book, and the film is my all time favorite film, though the book was still a little better than the film. :D

I think it's the order they came in the film, if I'm not mistaken. But my two absolute favorite scenes are definitely the duel scene between Reepicheep and Eustace and the battle scene against the sea serpent!

These scenes are indeed very good. :)
I also like the temptation of Edmund and Caspian. I love when Caspian says:
"If you think you're so brave... PROVE IT!" They're supposed to be a bit out of their mind in this scene, and I think it works well.

Yes!!! I love that scene. I thought it was interesting when Ed says "I've always been second, first under Peter, now you!" and this dialogue: "you can't take anything out of Narnia, Edmund." "Says who?" "I do." and then I think Edmund said something about Caspia having no authority over him. Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from the book, when Edmund says "I don't serve you! If anything it's the other way around. I am one of the for ancient sovreigns of Narnia and you are under alliegence to the high king, my brother!"

all the scenes with Aslan of course :D . also the scene when its snowing in the magicians room with Lucy :D and when Reepicheep was comforting Eustace when he first turned into a dragon and all those scenes with those two. A brave mouse and a scaredy cat dragon. :p and... and yeah pretty much the rest of the movie. :D

I really loved the parts with the dufflepudds, they were exactly as I imagined them when I read the book. Extraordinarily done! :D

In the end of the film though when they reached Ramandu's Island we never got to see Ramandu, it was a pity! :(

Finally, I really liked the scenes in which Eustace wrote in his diary, great, just great! :)

It does work well in the film. The dialogue is good. :)

Gleookan, I also like when Eustace writes in his diary. Something like "they all suffer from delusions"!
He finds the weirdest places to sit and write also.

I enjoy Caspian and Edmund's swordfighting, for fun. And Caspian says: You've grown stronger, my friend! That's a nice scene. :)

What did you like about the VDT film.

Now it's a while since most of us saw the VDT film in cinemas. Some lucky people have got it on dvd, some have to wait a little longer. :)

There have been threads about favourite scenes, favourite quotes, small things we liked etc.
This thread is to talk about, what people liked about the film in general: Scenes, themes, actors, whatever. The overall impression, now a while after the release.

Personally I like the beginning of the film, and pretty much everything after Coriakin's Island. I like Reepicheep and his relationship with Eustace the most.

I liked Eustace, the involvement of Edmunds character more, ( cause he wasn't in the book as much), Caspian was awesome, Ed was awesome, reep was hillarious, and the end scene made me cry. Makes me think of Veggie Tales. "I laughed, I cried.. I moved me, Bob."-Larry the Cucumber. ;)

Isn't that the point of a forums? To have multiple discussions about things we liked or disliked? Like Liz said, there are threads for quotes and scenes, but there isn't a thread where we can just talk about Everything!

Anyway, I really liked Eustace. He was funny, mean, and good. When they decide to make the silver chair they had better cast Will Poulter. I will accept no other Eustace! He was great.
I also loved how Reepicheep started telling Eustace one of his adventures; "Believe it or not, you're not the first dragon i've encountered. It was a long time ago, I was sailing with a band of pirates..." That gives all of us writers something new to turn into a story!

But if you get too many discussions about the same thing it clogs the forum. Its better to have an all-in-one thread then have a bunch to sort through to try and find what you're looking for.;)

That's when you have the mods merge a couple of the mergeable threads...... :) Here, we can talk about anything we like about the Dawn treader... ;) and I could go on fOr hours, but can't at the moment cause of school. ;)

Yes, and I would believe that this is one of the mergeable threads since there are specific threads for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING good, bad and ugly about Dawn Treader (or so it seems.)

I like that they had a lot of the Lucy scenes included in the film. I thought the Eustace dragon scene was great, but I enjoy it more in the book, and how Aslan helps him change back to a boy.

Exactly, Aslan's Child. There isn't a thread where we can talk about anything in general, which we liked. I missed a thread like this one, that's why I made it.
If mods want to merge threads, they do so. It's their job. I don't hope they do, though, since I find it very interesting to hear about peoples positive impressions of VDT - in general - now a while after the release.

I agree, Will Poulter HAS to be Eustace.
I also like that all the main characters got a fair amount of screentime each. It was well balanced.

I really liked Eustace. He was amazing!!! I loved Edmund and his reactions to Eustace half the time. They were pretty funny. I loved the Dawn Treader itself. It was amazing. I did not really like Lucy that much in that movie. :( That and Gael were the two downsides to the movie, in my opinion. I really liked Reepicheep. He was great. Caspian was SO much better in this movie. I loved the scene with Peter and Susan. I thought that Peter was funny in that scene, sorta. ;) I loved all sorts of things about it, though I was not pleased that it was rushed.

I loved Lucy and Gael! How could you not like those two?!? they had some of the sweetest scenes in the whole movie!

Its not that I did not like them, it was that Lucy was not my favorite character in that movie, and Gael was out of place, in my opinion. Gael was just randomly stuck in, and for what purpose but to make Lucy see that she was worth more than she thought. Lucy could have learned that through Aslan, but they added Gael. That was just sort of odd to me.. Thats all.

But back to things I liked. Skandars acting was spot on, Drinian was AMAZING, and Caspian was awesome

Well I just think we had to many threads on VDT in general. Why did you worry about VDT so much?(don't answer that, I think I can:p)

The magic, nothing else.
