Oh, hehee, I forgot that this wasn't a "Recommend a movie" thread. My apologies, Vanessa.
A review can still be a recommendation...some movies I review I don't recommend watching.

I liked the third movie but I didn't like the rushed things. They kept on rushing through scenes. I thought Swann made herself a bit unbelievable when she kissed the other guy and mourned over his dead making me almost believe she was not ready for marriage yet. But hey that is me Who am I to say it was like this?
Agreed about Swann
But it wasn't horribly rushed, I mean think, it was 3 hours long, they had to rush it a little! The MOST rushed movie I've ever seen is Stars Wars 3... All the jedi's died within minutes ><
The Jedi died within minutes because Order 66 had been in place for at least 10 years [why do you think Sifo-Dyas ordered the clone army to be created? Sidious had it all planned out long before the Jedi even got suspicious of the Sith being back].

MGGT, are you referring to Elizabeth kissing Jack at the end of Pirates 2? If so, she did it out of selfishness for herself and for Will. This is why I dislike those two movies; to me it's almost as if the writers forced these characters to "act out" just to make a good film. They shouldn't have made the sequels, and they certainly shouldn't have distorted Elizabeth's and Will's characters like they did. It was more unforgivable than anything else in the films.
Think of how Count Duku died. That scene went so fast. And then general Grievous died within second of their battle.. All the DUELS were what were cut short for me..
No. She kissed Norington again in the 3rd, and WENT to kiss Jack at the end
I agree with these comments, and with the comment that PoTC III was rushed. They had such a grand opportunity for an amazing story, and they failed to make it happen. The whole romance between Jones and Calypso could have been epic, and the ending could have actually made some sense rather than that whole whirlwind she turned into or whatever happened. There was a great story in there that they failed to make and instead tried to build the whole movie on Jonny Depp acting foppish, which is quite entertaining but after 2 movies of it, you're ready for something more. IMHO.
The ending of PoTC II was classic, with the return of Geoffrey Rush, and it left you dying for an epic ending to the tale ... and then PoTC III failed to deliver. It felt like the producers just wanted to get the movie made so they didn't let the writers take the time to make a great screenplay.
Well, I don't hear anyone complaining about how "rushed" the opening of Return of the King [extended edition] was with the deaths of Saruman and Wormtongue. They died in much the same way as Grievous and Dooku [obviously not the same weapons, but you get my drift]. Dooku died quickly because he did not play an important role in the film. Grievous died quickly because he also did not play an important role in the film. I say unimportant for both because the axis of the movie rested on the conflict between Anakin and Obi-Wan. Who cares about Dooku and the duel when the best of friends are now on opposite sides against each other? I could care less, frankly. Not to mention...there are the books. Episode 3 was the only well put together prequel film, and I personally wouldn't have wanted to sit through a 3 hr+ Star Wars film. No thank you. 2.5 is plenty for me.
As to Elizabeth "trying to kiss Jack": don't believe so. I forgot about Norrington, but I've seen Pirates 3 enough to know that Elizabeth never tried to kiss Jack in the 3rd film. Not sure what you're referring to there, but she never tried to.
the romance between Jones and Calypso should've been explored in Dead Man's Chest, but they wasted too much time setting up the story of Jones...which wasn't really set up IMO. Pretty sure we didn't find out until Pirates 3 that the reason for Jones' becoming all "tentacley" [as Ragetti put it] was that he didn't do his job of ferrying souls to the next world after death. Why didn't they include that information in the 2nd film? Why weren't we told in movie 2 that Calypso and Jones were romantically involved?
The problem seemed to start with 2, and multiplied with 3. and don't even get me started on the killing Will and making him captain of the Dutchman.
Grievous died quickly because he also did not play an important role in the film.
I think why some people hate his death, is because he is made to be "Unstoppable" earlier (like in the 2003 cartoon series where he is like a god and such) and then turns out to be rather wimpy
"Gibbs: Your carriage waits, my lady! The oars are inside.
[Elizabeth bids her pirate friends farewell]
Ragetti: 'Bye, poppet.
Barbossa: MRS. Turner...
Elizabeth Swann: Jack... it would never have worked between us.
Jack Sparrow: Keep telling yourself that, darling.
[Elizabeth steps forward to kiss Jack]
Jack Sparrow: Once was quite enough!
Elizabeth Swann: Thank you."

I haven't seen this movie since October. I saw it the first time immediately after it came out, and then again in October. If I had the money, I would've bought the blu-ray/dvd combo. But, I saw it enough to remember the majority of the film.
General review: if anybody watched this movie without crying, tearing up, or at least getting choked up, they should have a heart transplant. I used at least 3 tissues during the duration of the movie, and I think it was mainly because I could identify with the feelings of the main father [played by Alex Kendrick]. The reason why being that I lost my young cousin in 2004, and I know that my aunt and uncle went through the same feelings as Adam and his wife in the film. I think this was, without a doubt, the best film put out yet by Sherwood, and for good reason. It had a great balance of action, heart, comedy, and drama all wrapped into one 2 hour film. I sat reminded of my dad each time I saw the movie, thanking God that I'd been blessed with such a godly man for a father. The part that was one of my ultimate favorites? The dinner scene between the man and his daughter [I can't remember his name!], where he gives her a ring and asks her to trust him with her heart, or in other words, asks her to trust him with her relationship decisions. "If you trust me with your heart, and trust that your mother and I will do what's best for you, I promise we will."
Acting: no, it's no Oscar nominee. But for a movie to cast mostly inexperienced people as actors, I believe that the acting is far superior to some actors even professionally trained *cough*RobertPattinson*cough*
9/10. Pick up the dvd and watch it. And, have a box of tissues nearby. You'll need it.
