I wasn't too interested in seeing this movie, but since it was the only decent one playing, my friend and I decided to go see it. I have to say, I'm really glad that I did. It was SO cute! And the all-star cast was fantastic: Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy (known as Mr. Tumnus to you NarniaFans ;) ), Emily Blunt, etc...

Has anyone else seen it?

No, I haven't. I'm not sure if I want to see it or not. The trailer made it look pretty lame... But who knows? Trailers don't always accurately portray what a movie is like. When Gnomeo and Juliet comes out, I'll probably rent it for $1 at Redbox. That way, if I don't like it, I'm not losing much. ;)

Did you see it in 3D? I've heard that in that aspect it was really underwhelming.

No, I saw it in 2D. One 3D movie was enough for me. I didn't buy my ticket, but it was the worth the $7 to see it. Probably one of the most enjoyable G-rated films I've seen in a while.

And yeah, the main reason why I wasn't interested in seeing it is because of all the publicity. I was like, "eh, another Romeo and Juliet film".

It's G-rated, but was it truly clean? (I'm not criticizing you, I'm just curious)

Some of my friends (both teenagers) saw it. Their mom hated it because she thought it was stupid, but they LOVED it. This is what they said: "Yeah, it was pretty lame. But it was so lame that it was AMAZING!!!"

Random fact this is a Disney produced movie, but not made by Walt Disney Animation Studios. though it did start development there...

Worst $16.00 (2 tickets) I ever spent. Stupid movie and if anyone I ever knows gets the DVD whenever it comes out asks if I want to watch it, I'll pass even though its free.

Maybe it was beneath your level....

I for one thought it was cute; maybe it's because it had James McAvoy (Tumnus) and Emily Blunt in it that I liked it. Or maybe I'm just juvenile.

The only other issue I have with it is Elton John's involvement. That's the only reason I won' be buyin it on dvd.

I see your reasoning, with John, but I really like The Lion King...
I don't think he gets any profits from this, considering he's just the producer. All he gets is what Disney/Touchstone payed him, plus the royalties on his music.

I love this movie! It's so cute!
The soundtrack is amazing as well!

The only songs I paid attention to were the ones where they were singing...I may have to check the soundtrack out. ;)

At Soldier: I recently re-watched The Lion King, and realized that I hated it. I used to like it (goodness knows why; maybe because it was forbidden?), but now all the New Age spirituality turns me off. Which is weird, considering how much I love Star Wars. I'm not a fan of Elton John regardless; I don't like his music that much.
