I do actually live in Oxford as my profile suggests. It is a beautiful place to live, I feel lucky.
Has anyone else ever been here? Perhaps made a pilgrimage to C.S.Lewis' home town?
I used to drink at the Eagle & Child pub where the Inklings used to meet. There is a plaque on the wall which tells customers about Lewis' and Tolkiens meetings.
I've been quite lucky in where I live in this life. I was born in Prague and then moved to Geneva for a few months before settling in Oxford as a child. I spent the rest of my life here apart from 6 years in Cheltenham (another nice town - called the garden town).
Oxford really does have that mystical quality that you sometimes hear about, or that you see in Inspector Morse films. The dreaming spires and all the history make it special.
