Anyone a fan of Merry(Dominic Monaghan), Sam(Sean Astin), Frodo(Elijah Wood) or Pippin(Billy Boyd)?
Then please discuss them here. :D

Awwww... yes. I think Sam has the best personality out of the four.
But... I still would have to say my fav is Mr.Frodo Baggins!!! lol.
Yes, I'm a girl with a crush. :D
 
It seems that everybody like Frodo. I think I'm the only girl on the forum that doesn't have a crush on him.:eek: lol But he's cool too, very brave.:D
 
Ha Ha!! Yeah.. everyone who likes LOTR seems to be pretty obsessed with Frodo on here. :D I guess I'm just another crazy Frodo obsessed girl in a crowd of many. lol.
But I also liked Frodo's character as well... even though the ring effected him ALOT through out the movie, changing his personality a bit.
 
Yeah. I think I would like him more if he didn't put on the ring like that at the end. It just kind of made him seem less spectacular in my eyes. I almost cried when he got on that ship though.:(
 
I really thought he was going to die in the scene at Mount Doom!! lol.
I mean when he fell off the edge with Gollum, I almost started to cry.
There were alot of times where he escaped death. Such as the spider.. Ugh!! Hate that thing.
But anwho...
Yes!!! I was also SOOOO sad when he left on the ship with the Elves. :(
But I read somewhere that later when Sam's wife dies, he leaves Middle Earth on a small boat to go look for Frodo in the Undying lands. I wish Mr.Tolkein would of written another book about Sam's journey to find his best friend. Sad.
 
I'm a big Hobbit fan...although not of Frodo...sorry..:(
I like Sam best,and his little family from the end of the third movie(Elanor is too cute!)..than Pippin and Merry,because they make me laugh.:D
 
I LOVE the hobbits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a LOTR freak in general and I have a lot of action figures at home. And a lot of FRODO'S!!!!
I used to like Pippin the most of all. Samwise however is my biggest favorite. He is brave and loyal and such a sweet and unselfish character. I bet you like the movie Frodo more because the book Frodo wasn't that young when he left the Shire :D I do like Frodo. He is a cute hobbit. But I am and will never be in love with him. Although he is allowed to become my younger brother ;)

Well.. I'd have to say he is my favorite of the 4. But it's a very hard decision.
I love Sam because he is so brave and unselfish.
And I love Pippin for being so hilarious all the time. Awww.. so cute.
And Merry is awesome too... since he is such good friends with Pippin and they seem to have alot of fun together. Ha Ha Ha!! Pretty much always smoking a pipe or drinking ale in their spare time.
But since I like Frodo.. I guess that makes me a bit bias.

Most people like Frodo because he is so cute. But he was portrait much weaker in the movies than in the books. I love Frodo as much as I love all the hobbits. As you can tell...Pippin is back in my siggy and avy :D My love for the hobbits will never die.
 
Yeah.. I really want to start reading the LOTR books VERY soon. :) Right now I'm reading 'The Hobbit' and am enjoying it alot.
Oh and Mrs Gil-Galad Took!!! I absolutely love your siggy with Pippin!!! It's really awesome.. your a very talented banner maker person. :D
Sooo.. do you think the hobbits were portrayed good in the movies or not?
Did they change alot about them in the movies?

Yes, I think the way they portrait the hobbits was excellent. Merry is in the books a lot older and much less funny but I think they have made him and Pippin a very funny couple. Sam is the same as I expected, sweet and loyal and brave and Frodo...although he had some weak points I liked him. In the books he didn't follow Gollum that easily and Gollum didn't set Frodo up against Sam. Though I did like Frodo. I know people hate him or dislike him but I don't.
You should read the LOTR wen you have time because you will like it :D;)

I loved the Hobbit book,but didn't care for the Lord of the Rings books....
I didn't understand or like LOTRs when I read the books,and became a fan solely because of the movies...
So I thought the Hobbits,at least Sam,Pippin and Merry were portrayed wonderfully..and so believeable as another kind of race..:)
But I didn't care for Frodo in books or movies.....:o
 
Oh yes!! I cared a lot about the books!!! They are wonderful and a masterpiece. If you have difficulties with reading LOTR, then you should not try Silmarillion first because it is even tougher :D
