How is everyone?

I've been doing well. Just stressed out at the moment with something work-related, but overall pretty good.

I've got a house, a wife and a daughter.

Today is the exact fiftieth anniversary of my becoming a believer in Yeshua the Messiah, a.k.a. the Lord Jesus Christ, a.k.a. Aslan. (I was raised to be an agnostic.) Today is a Saturday, and that fateful evening in Illinois was also a Saturday. A Christian rock band called "Eden" had played a concert; and their testimony of redemption came on top of my learning a lot of Biblical history in college that year. The scales were tipped, and I made my commitment. (Believers in absolute externally-imposed predestination are free to argue that the commitment made me. Regardless, here I sit.)

"Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come;" and Aslan continues to send adventures to me. I've been widowed twice, have had a third wife leave me because she literally just felt like it, and am now too old ever to enjoy romantic love again. It is what it is, but Aslan keeps me busy in His service. Much of this involves writing, so I am all for The Dancing Lawn getting active again.

While a mere 61, I am having to come to terms with the fact that in many circles (not all; the church where I play organ is a notable exception) I'm the oldest or among the oldest. Aside from the odd minor niggle and gradually starting to say goodbye to one tooth after another, I really can't complain too much, and I hope to keep myself fit enough for long enough to enjoy at least a few years of grandparenthood, though I daren't speculate how many years away that still is.

Admittedly if you'd told me a few years back how much heavy lifting my work would entail on a day-to-day basis at my age, I'd have raised a sceptical eyebrow, but at least, give or take a slight hernia, I am capable of it...

Living in the Netherlands and learning Dutch, while feeling oddly normal.
Working on blockchain projects (ideas welcome! I'm in the ideation for new projects phase)
Trying to become a piano teacher and singer, but there was this global pandemic that happened....

That's cool, regarding the blockchain. I will think about that. I have several connections in the blockchain world, including the founder of Blockcon.

I am hoping the pandemic doesn't last too much longer, but I anticipate it will, at this rate, sadly. I think the turning point will probably be when the vaccine is available for children younger than age 12. (And if people can stop making a political case about it all.)

Sounds interesting, did you move to the Netherlands recently?

Since the forums have been around for... oh, about 18 years... you could say that.

Because it's not. I think we can get it there, but I would need to drop the name, the Dancing Lawn.

The first result has been around just as long as we have. We both have a lot of good search rankings.

I added the new Q and A section for this reason, actually. The more good questions and answers about Narnia topics, the better.
