How many times?

Thanks, Rachel, for giving me some much needed perspective! :)

It's just so exasperating because I've been asking everyday for the last two weeks. But, ah well, you're right that I should count my blessings.

I fully agree that it is an amazing film. :D Well worth multiple viewings.

No problem! :D

And hear, hear! It is indeed more than worth multiple viewings! :p

Unfortunately, last Tuesday was my last time (my fifth) since it's no longer playing in my neck of the woods. I'm still hoping that it will come back, since sometimes they bring a movie back to theaters before the DVD gets released. It's usually pretty cheap too (like about a dollar or so, even cheaper than cheap night).:(

I agree with everyone on multiple viewings though, since what kind of fan would we be if we only saw it once (especially if you're any kind of a 'nite, because just seeing your crush once on the big screen in not enough, though I was a Narnia fan first)?:D

^LOL. And I am sorry it's no longer playing where you are. That's really too bad. Not even a month!

I (hopefully) will get to see it for the third time tomorrow! :D

And I am a 'nite, yes, but not in the "crush" way. :D Just because the guys are cute and excellent actors, and the girls are pretty and excellent actresses. :p No crushing involved. ;)

I have seen it 3 times, i hope to see it at least once more before it ends playing in theatres. I saw LWW 6 times, doubt i will see PC that many times bc LWW is my all time fave book, and fave book of the seven

I have seen it only once *sighs*, but I am hoping to go see it with my Dad sometime soon, but ticket prices just went up to 9.50 where we are so it is going to be awhile.

It looks like it's going to be three times for me. I've seen it twice and it just got bumped to sharing a theater with "Just Married" I will try and go either tomorrow or Wednesday for my last time. It should go to the 2nd-run theater pretty soon so I might try and go see it then.

It's disappointing that LWW lasted until the middle of March, but PC is struggling after barely a month.

Ok, so I have now seen PC 13 times but won't get another chance to see it before Thursday night.

Kathy

Oh Kathy, you're making me feel evil envy again! Must-not-feel-envy. Must-not-feel-envy.:p

Otherwise, I am happy as I have finally seen it for my 6th time. The thing is that I very much still have gas in the tank. I could joyfully envision seeing it another 7 times. (I'm definitely a nut too, it seems. ;) )

However, while money is not so much the issue, transportation and respectability are. *grumbles* Don't know why my family insists calling it crazy to see PC so many times. It's like please I am just getting started!! :D

haha, I agree, I have only seen PC 4 times, and my mom thought I was crazy at 2!

^I hope your companions enjoyed it, redlady! :D

I just saw PC my 7th time. Need I mention that it was awesome? *happy sigh*

I was kinda hoping to see it again tomorrow to round out my viewing experience to a nice 8 but it looks like the film is being yanked out of the local theaters to make way for the newest slew of summer slush.

Drat that Iron Man! Couldn't the cinemas be content with showing one Marvel movie at a time? (Incredible Hulk)

Ha ha, Mrs. Pevensie! :D We are clearly misunderstood by our dearest loved ones. It happens sometimes. Think of poor Lucy. Why must madness always be the label put to those who see Aslan? *wry*

i already watched it 6 times...and i haven't watched it for like two weeks now..which is the longest i've lasted w/out having to watch it lol. i MIGHT watch it for the 7th time with a friend who has yet to watch it, but iono. i've been spending alot of money on movies nowadays.

Just saw it for the fifth time the other day...every time I see it I wish I could take Aslan home with me and keep him as my pet :D lol. Although I guess that could be a problem, since he isn't a tame lion :p

Ok.... now I'm thinking that my two times of seeing it doesn't much rate on the scale around here.... (I also re-read the book in between seeing it, does that count?)

I don't actually see myself watching it again while at the movies.

The first time I saw it I was totally stoked and really, really loved it. The second time I saw it I saw everything that was wrong with it and wanted to hit some people over the head and rewrite entire sections... and yes, I'm one of those people who think they should be true to the book.

(having just finished a class on writing for performance at uni, I understand the need to change things when turning a book into a film, but there were things that I thought they changed which weren't needed and actually made it worse... but this is probably a discussion for another thread so I'll just have to look for that thread...)

After I ranted for a bit about what was done wrong in the film, I was told, 'so don't watch it again then', but I'll still probably buy it when it comes out.

Well I saw PC for the 14th time last night and plan on going again in the next few days. I probably won't see it as many times as LWW but it'll be a close one.

Welcome, Starre! Seeing the movie once rates on the scale anywhere so seeing it twice is quite decent. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it the first time around. Lol, I had the opposite experience. I didn't hate it but I was overwhelmed, not entirely in a good way, and then my second viewing settled me down into tiresome fandom.

And I think you will find much agreement that the movie should've stayed closer to the book. Even I can think of a few scenes that I'd desperately like on the EE DVD.

After I ranted for a bit about what was done wrong in the film, I was told, 'so don't watch it again then', but I'll still probably buy it when it comes out.

If you do buy it, then I suppose there's not much need to see it again in theaters. Otherwise, generally, my advice is always to give yourself a cooling period and then try the movie again. I know that you have technically seen the film twice already but I think rereading the book in-between makes all the difference and that perhaps you might want to reevaluate your initial reaction a bit.

You may very well still strongly object to the changes made or you may more comfortably abhor the changes.
