Is there anyone else who likes the movies better?

I wonder why filmmakers don't stick closer to the book when they make movies. It can't be that hard - I know they can't put everything from the book into the movie, because then it would be a million hours long, but they don't have to add stuff into the movie that isn't in the book.

Exactly. And if they DO add anything I'd like it if they told why; like in the SEE of TTT they gave explainations of what they did, in PC they didn't.

The only time I would be okay with them adding something into a movie would be if the new part didn't change the storyline or plot in any way. It's been so long since I read LWW, but I am pretty sure there is some parts in the LWW movie that weren't in the book...and it didn't make any difference, unlike the Susan/Caspian scene in PC. -example-

The Waterfall scene, didn't damage the plot or the magic of Narnia. It was never in the book.:D
They also tend to switch lines around, thats not bad though...

With LOTR or Narnia you just have to read the books first to create that magic moment in your own head. Created by the author(s) and you can use your own imagination what it looks like but producers easily turn it into a Hollywood scene. The magic of the books will get lost most of the times

I like the movies, but when you connect them to the book, you see that a lot of things are not right, but i do like the way how they visualised it,the Narnia they made was the Narnia i visualised.

I saw LWW before I read the books and none of the magic was lost for me when I did read the books. (but that may be because of my imagination)

Because LWW was pretty close to the book but PC wasn't. And the same with LOTR. I love the movies dearly and enjoyed them but the books are more magical. At least to me it is

I generally love the books much better than the movies.

The only time this isn't the case (so far) is "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. The books are so long and detailed that I've only gotten through them once, and I would much rather watch the still very long movies than read the books. :p

It depends. I admittedly like the Narnia movies better than the books. But for series like Harry Potter and Twilight, I think the books are WAY better (although, I thought the last HP movie was excellent).

Another example of where I like the movie better than the book was My Sister's Keeper. I could connect with the characters so much better when seeing the film. Also, I think they did a much better job conveying the themes of the story with how they dealt with the plot.
