Jadis returns to Narnia

Tom slowly pulled the door open,it's hindeges were stiff and screeched as if in agony as he did so.
"Oh,that noise" cried June and covered her ears.
"Yea" said Tom "they need a good oiling or better still replaced, just like every thing else in this house". He finally pulled the door wide open and growned at what he saw.
The two children walked out into the garden. It was a big garden for a house in an London street. The lawn if you could call it one was over growen and waist high, the shrubs in the boarders were wild and untamed as they competed with the brambles and weeds that were choking them.Behind the shrubs and weeds ran a stonewall nine feet tall and even it was being taken over by the ivy that over the years had marched its way up to the top and now was seeking something else to grab on to.The sun shone upon every thing unlike in the street, the street had her light but the garden had her warmth. The wall ran all the way round the gardens boundaries and in the far wall from the house was a door, the ivy too had smothered it.
"Tidy this up!" said Tom looking all around him,"this needs the Ground Force team in to do this;Look at it it's a jungle".
"Oh stop moaning Tom;There is plenty we can do, we can start pulling the ivy of that door down there as it's not as thick as it's on the walls"and she headed off to the door.
"Great an other door with rusty hindeges" said Tom and he followed June to the door.

June was pulling away the ivy from the door when Tom reached her.
"I wonder what's behind this" she said with a handful of ivy and a few leafs in her hair.
Tom looked at her and smiled "it leads out to the back entry and by the look of it it has not been opened in years; The bins must go out into the street now instead of out here and anyway it does not lead to a magical land like in the books you read" he sniggered.

June stopped pulling at the ivy and her fingers green from the sap pointed a green one at Tom.
"I know that!" she snapped back "I was just asking as I don't know this area yet and I am not a child for reading fairytales; If you took the time to read some you would see that they are stories with morals and myth from a past long ago;All you read is science and try to use logic like Mr Spock to see the world around you, well Mr Spock had no feelings or emotions, and who would want to be like him".
She then turned and started to pull at the ivy even harder than before.
"Ok ok June I am sorry" Tom said "I know you don't read them as a child would I know you can see the deeper meaning and after all they were not written by children and by the way would it not be easier to cut the ivy away rather than pulling at it".

June stopped her pulling and looked at Tom with narrowed eyes.
"Do we have anything to cut it with?" she snapped back. Tom grinned and pointed to his right "see that outhouse over there I bet there are tools in it".
"Ok cleaver clogs you go and see if there are any tools in it and I will pull as much as I can of while you waste time looking for old tools". June faced the door and started to pull at the ivy again. "And why don't you use your logic and go to the van and get OUR GARDENING TOOLS out of it" she added in a mocking tone.
Tom had to think for a second and answered in a fluster. "Mum said we are not to go to the van and bother Mr Todd,so I will go to that outhouse" and he turned and walked towards it wondering if there were any tools in it at all and how stupid he will be in June's eyes if it were empty.

I certainly would not want to be like Mister Spock, with no feelings. I believe in having BOTH emotions AND logic.

Or, even worse, like one of the Cybermen from Dr Who, or The Borg from Startrek!

Great story, Jadis the White, I can see the various strands beginning to come together and look forward to reading more!

What an idiot thought June as she continued to clear the ivy from the door but not in handfuls as she had done before but leaf by leaf, she picked each leaf and threw it on the ground as if it were the old he loves me he loves me not rhyme.
"My brother smart, my brother dumb" she said as she tossed the leaves on the grass.
