Jadis vs Jadis

Walden Media Witch is frightening. BBC one was creepy, nut the Walden Media one seems wild and wicked, like some sort of dragon, she embodies the forbidden magic, which she uses.
But please note that I like ALL Walden Media actors better.

I like Tilda Swinton as Jadis the best. Although when I was kid the BBC jadsi was creepy. Overall I jsut like how Tilda palyed a deceptive and cruel Jadis. she also has mad sword skills :D .

Yeah, I was stunned while I watched the movie.
Me too! She totally rocked with the swords! Every time I watch that scene I go like "Wooooow....I wish I could do that!"
I haven't seen the BBC version YET,so I don't really know how that Witch is like, but she doesn't LOOK all that powerful..and she doesn't look like a swordfighter either.

While I watched her swordsplay she reminded me of general Griveous from Star Wars, but with arrogance and comfidence. However, Peter challenged her and although that he was not on her level, his courage was amazing.
BBC Which is just wicked, creepy lady. Scary, but not nearly as much as Walden media witch.

I know many many people pictured Jadis as dark haired when they read the book, but I didn't.Somehow I always pictured her hair blonde.Maybe not in dreadlocks, but blonde.
However, the Walden Media one rocks! Thanks to Tilda Swinton for doing such a great job on playing her!

BTW I have sort of stupid question. Is the Green Witch from "Suilver Chair" Jadis as well?

Well, one member here, Copperfox, said in a Russian translation of The Silver Chair, that the Green Witch was actually Jadis raised from the dead. Also that would be troublesome because it would mean that Aslan's power to vanquish evil was not absolute...and she came back. Personally I think the Green Witch is another lady, maybe related to Jadis, but not the same person.

I agree with LM on this one. To say that it was Jadis raised from the dead would be like saying that Jesus didn't have the final victory over Satan. Aslan is the Ultimate Power in Narnia. He created Narnia and set things in motion. He knew that the White Witch would gain in power over time after the incident in The Magician's Nephew. Yet He had a plan in place even then for the overthrowing of Jadis through the Pevensies. He knew the beginning from the ending, just as Jesus, our Aslan, knows the same.

Hey, I think that I remembered that Jadis blamed her sister for the destruction of Charn. Could the Emerald Which be this sister? ;)

Probably not. Jadis blamed her sister for "forcing" her to speak the deplorable word which destroyed all life on Charn except for Jadis. So the chances of Jadis' sister being alive are mighty slim, unless of course Jadis' spell work is not as good as she thinks, possible I suppose, but unlikely, since Jadis waited till she and her sister were "face to face" before she said the word that would destroy all life. So probably her sister got the full force of it.

I have always wondered about the Emerald witch. Did Jadis marry and have some offspring or something? Or was it Jadis brought back like the hag and werewolf were suggesting in Prince Caspian?
