King Miraz?

Jason Isaacs looks like he'd do a great job. I'd vote for him or Kenneth Branagh. Either would be great in a sword fight with William and both are wonderful actors. Both could play a good bad guy. I can't wait to see the finished product of the movie though. I can't wait to see them all.

Michael Wincott would make a good Miraz, he's got a deep voice and he's pretty creepy as a villan.
I agree. He usually plays the part as a villan and yes.lol I agree with you.

Yes, Jason Isaacs would be great. So would Michael Wincott, a real-life fencing expert. If another suggestion is needed, how about giving Jason Carter of "Babylon 5" the chance to break out of his good-guy mold?

It is fashionable for the vilain to be a sorcerer. Yes, Copperfox, I didn't remember that he denied supernatural, but maybe this will make his character to be a liar as awell as villain...

Yea but he isnt one in the book..right? I havent read it in forever so I can barely remember anything! lol. but your right alot of the classics have the bads guys be sorcerers.

No, he's not. He and the rest of the Telemarines are scared to death of magic. That's one of the reasons why they hate Old Narnia.

If they make him a sorcerer (which they probably won't), it would ruin the whole movie b/c it's not in Miraz's character to toy around w/ magic, and it disrupts the whole idea of the Telemarines hating magic. Besides, Miraz is supposed to be portrayed as a big coward who acts tough. He's like Claudius in Hamlet or Scar in The Lion King. (DUH!)

My point is that they make the villains in movies far more powerful then in books. Look even to the White Which... the battle with her was very long. I'm sure that Miraz would be, if not an evil wizard who fools his people, if not that he would be at least a dangerous swordsman.

Yeah, I agree w/ the dangerous swordsman idea...that would fit right in w/ the duel w/ Peter.

I doubt they will give any supernatural powers to Miraz. But if they do, it'll probably be used for a hypocrisy theme, as hinted above by Sparhawk: Miraz wants everyone ELSE to give up all thought of magic, but HE'LL use it on the sly for his own advantage.
