"Hannah...Saruman hides something of great value in Calormene. The knights are of little use hiding about Narnia while his reign goes on. Why not rally them and send them after this valued item of great secrecy? Numenore will take care of Narnia..."

ooc: Resurrecting threads time!!

ic: A lone Narnian eagle circles over the Knight's abandoned fortress, her keen eyes searching the ruined battlements... Three months have passed since the Black Spot had suddenly vanished while sailing off the coast of the Lone Islands and the Kingdom of Narnia has fallen into disarray again... All the talking beasts have gone into hiding and the Rangers have disappeared into the forests of Archenland, to prepare to take Narnia back from it's corrupt ruler... Saruman's orcs went on one last march through Narnia, burning forests and utterly destroying land as they went... They ended their journey by leveling the Knight's fortress... After finishing that task, the armies of Saruman retreated into Cair Paravel and have turned it into a den for all kinds of evil and filth... Their Master Saruman has not been seen for a year and his troops are being led by their orc chieftains...

The eagle finished her last circle of the ruined castle and landed on what was left of the crumbling wall... Looking around, she gave a weary sigh... She had been hoping to find the last remnant of the Knights perhaps hiding out in the castle... Perhaps they would have an idea of what had happened to Saruman and more importantly, their Pirate allies... But the castle appeared to be deserted... The eagle turned her head to look out at the sea... Things were not much better out in Narnian waters... Corsairs controlled every port of the lone islands, being challenged only by a fleet of strange ships from another land commanded by the dragon-man, who was thought very strange and unusual by many Narnian Beasts... But he had managed to put up some resistance to the corsairs and for that the Narnians were thankful...

The Eagle spread her wings and flew into the ruined throne room of the fortress... Landing on the broken and burnt throne, she waited, silhouetted against in the red light coming through the broken windows... The others would be here soon...

ooc: I'll post more later... Or someone else could post too, acting as some sort of Narnian coming to a council in the Knight's fortress...

The steady clip-clop of hooves is heard coming through the forest. A man comes into the clearing and gazes at the wrecked castle in amazement.

"What did I tell you?" asked the horse.

"You were right, Kain", the man responds. "You were right to come get me. I never thought I'd come out of retirement, but - you were right."

"Like I said..." Kain nudged.

"More important than bees and apples, I know, I know. You're also right that I wouldn't have come unless you offered to bring me. But - could I have prevented all this? Just me?" The Prince started walking around the ruined tower, looking for signs of habitation.

"Who knows? What you should be asking is what you can do about it now." Kain replied.

"Is anyone else here? I don't see anyone", the Prince asked.

Inside the castle, the eagle heard the voices, and hopped warily to a window. There was no trusting strangers in Narnia these days. She cocked her head and looked at the newcomers with suspicion. A man and a horse? What did that mean?

^^Holy buckets....

I missed this thread...:(

ic: Susan quietly stepped out of the brush. After many days of traveling, she had finaly come to the place where the Knight's Fortress used to be. She looked at the crumbled walls, but hearing voices, took her bow out, and hid in the shadows of the overgrowth.

ic: The sounds of scratching claws reached the eagle's ears and her eyes snapped to the ruined staircase leading to the throne room... A small paw had just appeared over the top of the first stair... Another paw joined it and a couple of seconds later, with a lot of huffing an puffing, an otter heaved itself over up the last stair and into the throne room... Standing on it's hind legs, it brushed the dirt off of it's sleek coat and looked around the chamber... It spotted the eagle sitting on the throne and ambled over to where she was...

"Hello, Gavin." She said to the otter...

"'lo..." he replied breathing hard, "Phew, apparen'ly those stairs were men' for a lot bigger otter n' me... "

"They were built by humans." the Eagle said with another glance towards the broken window...

"Oh..." Gavin the Otter considered this for a moment, his head tilted to the side, "'At would explain it. So..." He sat back on his hind legs and folded his paws... "Where're these Knights we came here lookin' fer?" he asked looking around the ruined castle... "Not much o' a home ter live in I mus' say. There's a bit o' a wooded hollow near my place, that they could have if they want..."

"They're not here, Gavin." The eagle said quietly... "And neither are the pirates." she ruffled her wings, "A man and a horse just arrived in the courtyard, but I've never seen either of them before."

"Oh, well 'en, let's go say 'ello an' see who 'ey are!" the otter said cheerfully, and turned back to the stairs...

"Wait, Gavin. Not all humans are friendly and this one isn't wearing the armor or garb of a Knight. He has the look of having lived a rich life among other humans. He might not be trustworthy."

"Well, I'll go find out, 'en..." he said as he reached one of his sort front feet to the stair below. But he lost his balance and tumbled down the steps. He landed at the bottom with a soft "flump" and got to his feet muttering about slippery steps. Then he ambled off through the dim courtyard in the direction of the Knight and his horse.
