JT, is there something particularly about that era that speaks to your soul? I'm drawn to the world wars and interbellum period, a real ding dong daddy from dumas! And a great deal of it is based on how quickly people changed the way they viewed the world.
 
I guess I’ve always been fascinated by the Revolutionary War era because it was more than just a war. A lot of new things were coming about, like Benjamin Franklin discovered electricity (and it took a whole other century for people to learn how to control it), David Bushnell build the first sumbmarine, and so many others.
 
Very, very true. It was very important for Britain to hold on to the colonies because a ship had to balance food and cargo. If you don't have a place on the other side of the ocean, you have to carry food for the return journey. If you DO, you can carry HALF the food and a lot more cargo.
