Loners of Narnia

Well, can't we teleport to your ship?
If you want to teleport in the first place, you need to come up with some reason HOW you came to have the ability. For instance, the pirates can teleport because we actually come from Earth, and (though we didn't realize it) Aslan called us to Narnia by teleporting us through the Bermuda Triangle. Because of this, now each of the pirates can teleport, but very little if we are badly injured, and we can only take small loads with us when we teleport. (aka- we can't just take the ship and teleport wherever we want, because the ship is too heavy a load for us.) Also, teleportation tires us out, so we aren't as good in battle right after we teleport.

And, yes, the intruder spell blocks people teleporting in.

The reason I can teleport is because, my Parents were Pirates on a ship from earth. Something happened to their ship & it ended up in Narnia.
My parents were able to teleport when they got to Narnia.

And when they had me, I got some of their powers (like teleporting) :)

OOC= You should make up a back round story for your character, & put it in the thread "History of Your Character"

Hey, that story sounds familiar! :D

Battle rules and limitations: (By Prince of the West, added on to by Twilight and Machia)
You cannot attack another group unless they and you both have an equal amount of troops or at least three. (Example: If the Rangers had 5 people online and tried to attack the Beasts who had only 2 people online, that would go against the rules. But if the Beasts had 3 they could go and attack. And if the Pirates have 2 people online and the Rangers have 2 people they can fight. You are also allowed to duel 1 on 1)

No backstabbing

No taking over the entire story without letting anyone else have any say (Example of taking over: Twilight crept into the Mandalorian's hideout, and using her extra long cutlass, slit all of thier throats, leaving them bleeding and half dead all night long. Leave the people your fighting some room to respond, such as, talking about swinging your sword at someone's hand, not saying you chopped off thier hand right off.)

No making up new advantages for yourself in the middle of a battle without first talking about it specifically, or hinting about it fairly broadly somewhere where we could read it.

Realistic geography
It is important to remember that distance matters, particularly at sea. To simply pronounce, "we're there!", while ignoring the question of distance and travel time (not to mention use of resources), is to rob the thread of realistic tenor. (In other words, take some time to get where we're going, and post about it)

Realistic advantages & disadvantages
Likewise, it will be much more engaging if we are realistic about the advantages each side enjoys, and not lose sight of the corresponding disadvantages.

Pirates advantages and disadvantages:
The main platform for the Pirates is a wooden sailing ship. Wooden sailing ships:
Have a maximum speed of about 10 knots (i.e. nautical miles per hour); crusing speed is typically 5-7 knots
Need provisions, such as food, water, and repair supplies
Consume things such as powder and shot, which must be replaced
Are armed with 8 iron cannons, which have a maximum effective range of about 2 miles
Can only elevate their cannons sufficiently to hit an object 100 feet above the ground
Can depress their guns only enough to hit an object outside of a 100 foot radius from the vessel
Have crewmen armed with smooth bore muskets and pistols. A musket has an effective range of 200 feet and an accurate range of 100 feet. A pistol's effective and accurate range is half that.
Can burn. Though you may claim some protection from burning due to black magic, it is utterly unrealistic to pretend that a wooden sailing vessel is fireproof.
Take at least some time, effort, and resources to repair.
Can only see as far as the horizon (12mi at sea level under ideal conditions - clear sky, broad daylight, no haze)

Balance & Reciprocity
I would submit that each side's respective advantages have a counterbalancing disadvantage, just to make things interesting. For instance, The pirates can teleport - but is there a limitation? Does teleportation exhaust them, leaving them less able to fight?

Answer:
Yes, teleporting does leave us a bit more unable to fight than before, which could take our edge off in a battle, which is why we only teleport to get to a place that is a long distance away faster, and not to start hitting people faster during a fight. I would also say that we can only teleport one person with us at a time, and it leaves us both weaker than usual.

Personal powers:
It is true that no one can die in this game, unless they decide to make themselves die, and end thier playing the game. However, things get boring fast if we have a godlike character that is utterly invincible, yet is a killing machine to everyone else. So if individual character have some amazing powers, there should also be a way to sometimes get around them.
If your character seems invincible, let us know that he or she does have some weaknesses, so people won't think you're playing as a totally superpowered godlike character.

Do ye agree to all our rules and codes? If so, PM me and let me know! And have fun! (P.S. It's a game, so don't take it seriously, but try to play by the rules we've set out so it'll make sense and be fun.)

Added by Fish:

As the Loners seem to be a mish-mash of various people, could you please all post what special abilities and what weaknesses you have before you attack us? Be creative, but remember that some realism would also be nice (i.e. don't say: "I am invincible other than a tiny little dime sized spot deep below my skin on the back of my neck." That leaves little room for equality in play.) Now, I realize that some of you are probably somewhat new to RPG, so we aren't going to bite your heads off if you accidently god-mod or do some completely unrealistic feat, but we will remind you and, simply ask you to edit your post if what you said/did affects gameplay too much. Thank you all kindly for cooperating and we wish you happy RPGing. -Liz- a.k.a. Fish

Okay, I think I get all of that :)

*Jacob walks into camp*

"I have good news & bad news. Good news is, we have a new recruit named Kyshon. Bad news is, he's injured in the middle of the ocean.

Loners, get boats, and spread out through the ocean to find Kyshon"

Protofan said:
Kyshon slumped his arm over a boat. "I'm not gonna make it... Give this to Jacob..." He threw them a ring. Lucy's Ring.
He felt himself healing.
{You have forgotten the first thing I taught you}

ooc: Because protofan can't be him anymore, I will take his body.
