I picked Galadrieal and Eowyn in the books and the movies they were my fave I also voted for Arwen cause I admire she was willing to give it up all for love and how she helped save Frodo from the Black Riders.

I didn't realize till after voting that it was a multiple choice poll. So...I voted for Luthien Tinuviel. She is so beautifully wonderful and sacrificing, such a noble woman! The story of Beren and Luthien is very deeply lovely and heartbreaking...

If I had known about the multiple choices, I would have also picked...Arwen, for the same strength and beauty of character as Luthien. I love the story of Aragorn and Arwen, even if it is heartwrenching. Then I'd have picked Eowyn - who was a strong and beautiful woman and sounds like a wonderful one. And Galadriel, for her ethereal beauty and charm, her amazing strength, her refusal of power. And finally Gilraen, because of the way she went through her life. Especially the way she bore the sufferings and sorrows in her life.
(wow, that's a lot!) BUT, I love all the other women on the poll too...

I voted Eowyn. She's my favorite, in the books and the movies. :D

I like Arwen a lot less because in the movies she stole Glorfindel's role and took credit for what Gandalf and Elrond did with the water. *grumbles*

I picked Arwen because she's my favoret, you should have a poll and pick Lotr Ladies on TDL

They sort of did; TDL Gals (or something like that) I think LifeMaiden won that one. Arwen is my all-time favorite female of LOTR, and Legolas is next to her.

You know, it's kinda weird having people like Celebrian, Gilrean, Lothiriel, Morwen of Lossarnach, and Finduilas in there, because you neever meet them in the books, you just hear about them.

Yet that is part of what makes Middle-Earth seem like a real world. You wouldn't expect to be able to meet in person EVERYONE who was living in a world.

Exactly, lord of the rings, and the silmarillian for that matter, wouldn't be the same with out them. If i remember right Morwen and Findulis both have a essential part in the silmarillian. At least Morwen does?

The Hobbits will always be my favorites. I wish they had an action figure of Rosie Cotton. She is so adorable. The elves have played a big part in the whole Silmarillion and LOTR books. I love to read about them. I wish they had more about Gil-Galad.

I heard on the LOTR dvd that there was gonna be a scene where Arwen goes out to fight during the main battle (obviously they cut it cuz it contradicted the story line), but still, that would've been awesome! ;D

Although it might have looked cool, I am very glad they didn't add that scene. The books never mentioned Arwen was going on a battle, so I am happy that this wasn't included in the movie. With no Tom Bombardil and no source of the Shire and a changed part about Saruman's end, it would have been a bit weird to see a scene where Arwen was going to fight.

No Rosie? Sadness.
I'm going to have to say Eowyn. Though I am thoroughly unimpressed with Peter Jackson's vision of her. In the Two Towers she was far too, mmmm, clingy is the word that works. After she beat the Witch-King though she was redeemed in the movies.
In the books though she was pretty much awesome the whole time.
