lucy and tumnus?

I've had friends ask me that!
I said thats digusting,
Tumnas is Older than 100 years and a Faun,
And Lucy is a little girl!
EWWW!
To think Lucy and Mr. Tumnas had a relationship other than friends!

Lucy loves Mr. Tumnus, and vice versa. But she loves him in a very innocent and utterly asexual way, and he loves her correspondingly. To say there was anything otherwise just because those two hugged each other a few times and held hands would incriminate all parents and most primary school teachers.

I think their relationship is purely that of a child and an adult. It's very cute, really! But no, that'd be totally wrong if they had that kind of relationship. I kind of noticed some things in the film that could've pointed to it, but I don't think they were meant that way.

is this just in the movie? or actually part of the books?

What do you mean? Of course they had a relationship...he was the first creature of Narnia she met. They were friends, and it's an intergral part of both the movie and the books.

I thought their relationship was very touching, considering that Tumnus sacrificed his freedom to save a person from an unknown world. But I don't believe in any way that it was a "romantic" relationship; it was a friendship. I like the way Adamson created the relationship, because the relationship on-screen mirrored their off-screen friendship.

It was more of a teacher/student thing and a friendship, definitely not romantic. I'm very GLAD it isn't romantic considering how young Lucy is, LOL.

But you're absolutely right about Georgie and James' friendship off screen, translating well onscreen and how Adamson handled it.
