LWW Chess Set

Well, that could be hard to pick because like for the movie who would be the king on the WW's side" She'd be the queen right?
And on Aslans side, would Peter be king and susan queen? How would it really work though?

hello again what witch! I am not sure if the king should be aslan and the witch queen... it might make a good look but it is not a very good combination because aslan is good and the white witch is evil.

I think that Peter and Susan should be together as king and queen, then Edmund and Lucy should be bishops, the pawns should be just plain old Narnians, ya know, centaurs, leopards, bulls, unicorns, etc. etc. Then the higher ranking Narnians, generals of the army in LWW should be the towers and knights. That's just my opinion... I can't seem to find any place for Aslan though!
Welcome, narniagirl178! Hope you will like it here!

I guess you could have Aslan as king, the four kids together as queen, on a single base... though that might be a bit ungainly... Then bishops would be centaurs maybe? Knights leopards, castles Cair Paravel, and pauns would be fauns.

And then you could have a seperate set for the White Witch... 'King' being the witch, 'Queen' being Morgrim, bishops being dwarfs, knights being wolves maybe? Castles the Witch's house, and pauns being some sort of evil creature... dunno what...

Since the WW was the head of her army, and was the Witch-queen (or, pseudo-queen) of Narnia, she should be the King on one side of the board. I should imagine that either Ginarrbrik or Maugrim should be the Queen of that set (if the "King," or Jadis, is checkmated, then the game ends there - just like in LWW).

Maybe you could make the pawns for the Witch's army all hags?

good idea curumo! :)

this is what i would do-narnia: King:Aslan(kinda obvious!) Queen could be erm...PETER!lol...considering he was high-king of narnia :p centaurs could be knights and rooks would be GIANT RUMBLEBUFFINS!or cair paravel like johan said above!bishops...could have susan and lucy each for one. pawns would be warrior fauns or red dwarves!or even big cats...

White Witch: King:Jadis, or possibly Ginarrbrik?i know he wasn't a usurper-leader...but jadis would be much more mobile and uh...downright better in combat i think? so hence i would make jadis the Queen. bishops could be wolves, knights would be minotaurs..rooks could be cyclops'. the pawns i think i'd make black dwarves. :D

Just be careful, my friend...you might become like me and start going hog-wild with purchasing some of those excellent replicas. ;)

hey

Hey...its me... i think i already said what i thought would be cool but here it is again: QUEENS SIDE: king-ww queen-maugrim bishops-wolves castles-ww's castle pauns-dwarves ASLANS SIDE: king-Aslan queen-both lucy and susan bishops-both edmund and peter pauns- fauns castles-cair paravel :)

White Witch's Side:
King - Jadis
Queen - Maugrim or Ginarrbrick
Bishops - Wolves
Kinghts - Minotaurs
Rooks (Castles) - Black Dwarves
Pawns - Goblins and tigers

Aslan's Side:
King - Aslan
Queen - Unicorn (?)
Bishops - Lucy and Susan
Knights - Peter and Edmund
Rooks - Centaurs
Pawns- Fauns and Cheetas

This would be really cool if they would make it!

Sorry guys, but some stories defy old paradigms and the games that go with them. This conflict couldn't ever be represented by a chess set, because once Aslan is on the board, no other piece is his equal. Lewis makes quite clear that there is no "opposite" to God, and the "opposite" of Satan is Michael.

If you could make a chess set in which white has the King, and the rest of the white pieces were pauns, while black had, oh, whatever it could drum up except a King, then the game begins by white putting itself in checkmate (as in "game over") only to return in the second move (just as black is laughing and folding up the board) and turn all its pauns into Kings with full power and the combined mobility of the Queen and the Knight, well--that might be getting closer to the mark.

did you say pauns or fauns? (jk).
What about the Emperor over sea, is he a player or a member of a holy trinity?
I would like to see them fight like lovechess, in a game.
