Earlier today, while reading an article on the E-week computer magazine website, I saw an ad running for the new Blu-Ray High Definition DVD movie playing system. With a blue DVD disc spinning in the background (It's called Blu-Ray as a blue laser is used to read the disc), characters from a number of films beirfly popped up in this animated ad. Much to my pleasant aurprise, one of these charcters was unmistakably Aslan! (There was no other Narnian content there.) So, I checked out the website givenwww.experiencebluray.com and LWW was not listed as a title soon to be released. But the fact that this image was used (and I am sure they had to get permission, and they wouldn't get permission to use it without a good reason) suggests to me that it's release cannot be long off. (The page has a notice that the list changes constantly, and to check frequently for updates.)
The new Blu-Ray system is one of two competing high definition DVD systems that has recently been introduced (The other is, oddly enough called HD-DVD) The two incompatible systems each have strong backers. So, no one knows which system will 'win'.
I am now asking myself, 'Will I buy a Blu-ray player simply so I see LWW in HD?
