After their traumatic experience in Telmar, nine members of Mafiaville decided to take a safer vacation. They set out to sea in an old-fashioned sailboat, hoping for relief from the murderers that plagued their lives.

But it was not to be.

Once the ship was several days from land, they woke in the morning to discover the dead bodies of the crew littering the deck. They searched the ship in horror and found that the sails were shredded, the radio and lifeboats had disappeared, and the compass and back-up engine were hopelessly smashed.

The captain's body was in the engine room, where he had died valiantly defending his ship. A note lay on his chest. Lossëndil picked it up and read, with a quaver in her voice,

Dearest Citizens of Mafiaville,

We meet again. Did you honestly think the ocean could separate us? Oh, no; we are far too fond of all of you. And really, we would have thought you smarter than that. After all, there is nowhere to hide on a ship.

As you have most likely noticed, we have left you without any way to get back to land or to communicate with others. We can't have you causing trouble.

So please, sit back and enjoy the journey. It will make our jobs - and your deaths - so much easier.

With Our Sincerest Regards,
The Mafia

Jobs
Civilian: The majority of players are civilians. Civilians do nothing special, they just vote every day for who they think is a murderer.

Mafia: There are 3 Mafia, who get to kill one member every night. They PM the leader, telling the leader whom they want to kill.

Psychic: The Psychic gets to find out the job of one person per night.

Doctor: The Doctor saves one person every night. If the Doctor saves the same person as the Mafia decide to kill, then that person doesn’t die.

Cupid: On the first night only, the Cupid PMs the leader with the names of two people he/she wants to be "lovers". If one of these lovers dies at any time in the game, the other one will too.

Game Play
There are 2 periods of the game: day and night. During the nights, the Mafia kill somebody, the Psychic finds out somebody’s job, the Doctor saves somebody, and (on the first night only) Cupid picks two lovers. During the days everybody votes on whom to hang at the end of the day.

The object of the game for the Mafia is to kill everybody before they themselves are all hung. The object of the game for everybody else is to hang all the Mafia before they're all dead. During the night, the Mafia kill one person, the Psychic finds out the job of one person, the Doctor saves one person, and (on the first night only) the Cupid picks two lovers. During the day, everybody votes on whom to hang for the last murder. (I will be putting people’s votes up in bold next to their names.) Then it goes back to night and it starts over again. Don't forget to bold your official votes; otherwise they don't count!

We will be playing this game with time constraints, so each day and night will last 72 hours at the most.
The day ends (1) when everyone has voted, or (2) when the 72 hours are up. If the vote is tied after the day ends, I will flip a coin to determine who dies.
The night ends when (1) the Mafia, Psychic, Doctor, and (on the first night only) Cupid have all PM'ed the leader, or (2) when the 72 hours are up. If any of the people with night-jobs have not PM'ed the leader by the end of the night, the leader selects a name at random to go to that job. Thus if the Mafia fail to PM the leader, the leader selects a name at random for them to kill, if the Psychic fails to PM the leader, the leader selects a person at random to tell the job of to the Psychic, etc.

Please be aware that some people are willing to do anything to win. While I cannot personally commend some of the methods, the rules do allow them. Please don't take anything personally, and don't trust anyone, as we have murderers in our midst!

If you have a job that involves frequent PMs, please make sure your PM box is open so I will not have trouble contacting you.

This game will be non-reveal.

Ooh! I love your set up! :D This is going to be so much fun.

And now for the inevitable:

*searches frantically for book, hoping that it has not been lost or ruined during last night's tragedy*

I like that this simply continues from Sopes' game.

*joins D in search of books*

(I suppose this will now start a conversation on what books we are reading, what author we like, and so forth. Mafia games are inevitably plagued by books. :))

Mhmm. ^_^ As for me in real-life, I re-read "Stop Dating the Church" by Joshua Harris. I read it two years ago when I got it on a youth trip, and thought it would be helpful to re-read it now that my family is looking for a new church home.

*Hopes she doesn't get seasick while reading like she gets carsick*

I got through like three chapters of LotR today in my rereading which is quite an accomplishment for me.

*Eats D's book*

I don't know if I get Sea sick. I do know that Seasickness is supposed to helped by ginger. It is also simple Chemistry that Baking Soda crackers help keep your food down. Because Na HCO3- (Baking Soda) + HCl (Stomach acid) = NaCL (table salt) + H2CO3 (carbonic acid) which decomposes into H2O and CO2.

I've heard that looking at the horizon helps, but who knows. And I'm currently in the act of throwing all my textbooks overboard....

*splashes in the water*

While Math is not my favorite subject, it would not be the first one that went back over the side if I were to save Glen's books. Actually, my least favorite would be any on handwriting (unless it were forensic dissection of handwriting which would be something that I might read for fun), also any history books that do not present what really happened (such as ones with major typos that turn 54 year old men into young women, yeah, reading that page was interesting) would return to the water.

Actually, Constitutional History was the first thing that went over the side. The books aren't terrible; they just hold that "original intent" is basically whatever happens to the Constitution. Test on Monday.... *sigh*

Those two? I'd rather burn them at the stake, but I suppose throwing them overboard will have to do.

I've been wondering, how on earth would the mafia have gotten back to dry land if they had won? Not that they'd win, but it does seem that their plan is somewhat... amateur?

Oughtn't we keep the textbooks, just in case we need a fire or something?

I love handwriting!!! Quill pens and calligraphy ♥

NO!!!!! My statistics textbook is going to DIE. (Although burning it might be more...satisfactory. But we'd better have a stove. I'm not setting fire to the deck.)
