Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to everyone here :) hope you all enjoyed celebrateing Jesus birthday on Christmas day :)

Post Merry Christmas to you too Carl. Next big day: NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to be a party pooper, but New Years Eve is one holiday Julie and I just skip over for the most part. Julie has a hard time staying awake so she never stays up late to watch it. However this New Years Eve our church is having a service and pot luck from 6 - 9, and I get to preach that service.

it never snows in CA.. at least you get snow! ;)

i hate it when there's the same, monotonous[sp] gloomy day... ick..

Well, I wouldn't say that. It depends upon where you live in CA. Where we live at the 3000' level, it does snow once in a while - actually a lot last year, but the three years prior to that there was no snow here.

I also remember back in about 1975 when I was in the Navy, I was stationed at the N&MCRC at the Chavez Ravine area where Dodger Stadium is. One day in the dead of winter it did snow here about a half an inch. It was gone by the end of the day or less, but for a brief couple of hours LA did have snow.

WAH! Christmas is over! *begins countdown* 364 more days... 364 more days... 364 more days... :p
*ahem* Christmas is not over. The first day of Christmas is over. There are eleven more following. In the Christian calendar (which should have something to say about Christmas), the Christmas festival lasts for twelve days, until the Epiphany on January 6th. In fact, if you really want to stretch it, you can celebrate until the Feast of the Presentation (Candlemas) on February 2nd, when Jesus was brought to the Temple.

I realize this isn't the mercantile "Christmas season" which begins sometime in November and comes to an abrupt halt on December 25th, but hey - we Christians started the feast!

Kewl so I can keep my wreath and decorations up til that long at least.

yup. call me tacky, but we still turn our lights and everything on.. outside and inside.. ;)

NM, actually i meant it never snows in the Bay Area. sorry about not being specific!

Personally I love Christmas lights and I love it when people leave them up a long time. By all means leave them up and plug them in!

Today is my first day back from Christmas vacation and I need a nap. Christmas was a long day that entailed a trip to the ER for my niece who is sick (thankfully getting better). It was good to see family. I missed the forum.

Glad that you guys had a good Christmas!

Blessings to you on your preaching opportunity Carl!!! That's awesome! I'm preaching on the 8th.
