Tarkheena, I think your trouble is that you have to have a complete
link between the "img"s.
Meaning, your pictures have to be hosted on another site. The message board can't pull images right off your hard drive - your images need to be already stored on a web page somewhere. There are plenty of free sites that do this - I use photobucket.com.
Here's how it works: I go to photobucket.com and upload a picture off my hard drive. (It's easy, you just create an account and then follow the instructions.) Let's assume I have a picture called "
Aslan.jpg"
Once it's uploaded, I can see it there on my "photo album" page. Underneath it, it has several lines of code, labeled things like "img", "url", or "tag". Basically these are just links to the picture which I can insert into message boards or my live journal. If I'm confused about which one to use, there is a little [?] button beside each one that tells me what it is for.
If I'm using my Aslan picture, the code will look like this:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y110/username/Aslan.jpg (nobody try this...it's a fake link!)
That is what I would put between the
There's no need to memorize this. All I need to do is copy it from my album page and paste it into my post (or, if using the "image" button on the board, I paste it into the pop-up bar that asks for a url).
Do you see the difference? If I type in
, I get nothing, because the message board doesn't know where to find this picture. I have to give it a location.
Hope this is helpful.
