N.I.W.I.S: A Real Or Fantasy RPG

Summary: The Nothing Is What It Seems, or N.I.W.I.S for short, is role-playing that takes it a step further...wherein nothing is what it seems.
Players start as common people, people who may live in the real world, they can even base their character on themselves if they wanted to. That is where I come in. I twist the real character into something...an alter-ego or kindred spirit, if you will, that is in another land but vaguely linked with the "Real People" of our world. But, the link may be closer then we realise. The idea is for the players to roleplay as both seperate characters, whomever they may be based on what the Real Person is made up by the players and the Alter Egos I create. But, the idea is to make a connection with their "other self"....despite how differant...or not so, they may be to each other, they need one another. For the link between the two worlds is ripping apart....and the ignorance and destruction can put both worlds in chaos.

Rules:
Same rules apply like my other RPGs.

Character Creation: (Note: I will do an intro for both characters of all players before the game begins. Players create "Real World" characters only.)

Intro: Kiki Farnesworth/ Kenneth Mongould

Nineteen-year-old Kiki Farnesworth stuck her tongue out in disdain and scrunched her face up as the plate of food was put in front of her.
"They don't expect us to eat this, do they?" asked Kiki's friend, Gerge.
Kiki watched as her other friend, Bass, poked her spoon into what was supposed to be oatmeal but looked like it was off or something.
"What did you expect, Gerge? Room service?" asked Bass as she stopped poking her food in her bowl and glanced up at the repulsed faces of Kiki and Gerge.
"Well, yes. At least, that is what I thought in high school," replied Gerge, suddenly speaking frankly.
"Dream on, Gerge. High school was over, like, a year ago," said Kiki unabashedly. She had yet to touch the grey goop in front of her.
"Well, I'm going to try some," stated Bass with false enthusiasm.
"Don't, Bass. You'll get sick," cautioned Kiki as she watched Bass dunk the spoon into the mush and raise it to her lips.
"How would you know? It isn't poison, is it?" asked Bass, now looking startled.
Gerge started making a low clucking noise. This was enough for Bass.
With a warning glance at Gerge, whom stopped clucking, Bass opened her mouth and inserted the spoon, letting the contents spill into her mouth. Without thinking, Bass removed the spoon and gulped the contents down her throat.
"Well, how is it?" asked Kiki with mild curiosity.

"It looks bad," stated the mild-mannered youth as he inspected a vial with a dark blue liquid within it.
Taking off his wire-framed glasses, Kenneth Mongould held his glasses in his left hand and looked at the vial that was upon the tabletop in front of him.
He drew his attention to his client, whom had been waiting patiently (or not so patiently) in front of his desk.
The tall and imposing figure was cloaked in a shroud of smoke, his hood hiding his facial features.
"Il neck de trudoor," muttered the whispy voice from the hooded figure. It was speaking in an old Demon Dialect, one apparently Kenneth was used to hearing.
Kenneth nodded his head slightly, then leaned forward as he placed his glasses back over his eyes.
"I understand what you ask of me, but I simply can't do it," responded Kenneth Mongould.
The dark figure let out a slight high-pitched hiss, as if wailing.
Kenneth was not disturbed by this, he merely waited as the hooded figure bashed his table with one of its scaly hands.
Kenneth looked solemly at the creature and merely stated, "Give me till third noon, I shall have it ready by then."
The creature hissed slightly from the black hood, a purple tongue darted out, as if considering what Kenneth Mongould had said.
Taking its hand from Kenneth's desk, the figure stood upright and muttered with hissed and raspy breath, "Mos desnia retna, Mongould."
The black-garbed figure turned and slumped away from Kenneth, opening the door of Kenneth's dark laboratory.
The second sun was up, it was to be a hot midday. Light streamed in from the doorway and for a split second, Kenneth could see through the cloak that the creature was indeed a reptillian demon called a B'Snorak.
The B'Snorak hissed a final warning before leaving Kenneth's shop and slamming the door behind it.
Kenneth Mongould was bathed in the stuffy darkness once more, the simple flame of his table candle allowing him to have light to see what he was doing.
Grimacing, Kenneth adjusted his wire-framed glasses once more and observed the vial of dark blue liquid with interested disdain.

Intro: Sierra Jetland/ Arkenia

The whistle blew for the foul.
Sierra Jetland winced on the ground. Her scraped knee hurt.
The other player, the one who pushed Sierrra, stopped running with the ball as the whistle blew.
The referee, the town doctor, came over and squatted in front of the injured Sierra.
"Are you able to play?" he asked her.
Sierra Jetland did not respond straightaway. She was looking at her scuffed knee, bits of grass and dirt mixed with blood on the surface.
With resolve, Sierra nodded her head.
"Allright," stated the referee, standing up. He watched as Sierra got up from the ground, wondering how a kid was able to keep going after a fall like that. Then again, the good doctor was an old-fashioned sort of man. The kind who says that "kids should not hurt themselves that way and if they do, they should stop what it was that hurt them".
The player that knocked Sierra brought over the ball and put it in front of her.
Sierra did not blame the girl, she was only doing what she could to win, despite the fact that she shoved too hard.
Play resumed, with the town crowd cheering Sierra Jetland and her high school team. They were ahead, 16 to 10, with not much time left on the clock.
Sierra did marvously as allways, but was thinking she could do better. Ultimately, at the end of the match, Sierra's team won by 22 to 18, a mere four points that was due to Sierra, not that she was counting.
The home crowd cheered for their team when they won. Sure, it was not a large crowd, but it was enough for Sierra and the team, for they had entered a qualifying round in the National High School Cup.
Sierra was happy, she glanced over at the bleachers but noticed her family wasn't there.
Sierra was used to it, she knew how her mother and step-father, Dan, had to work, despite it being a Saturday.
Sierra pushed these thoughts aside as her teammates gathered around her and started chanting the well-known victory chant.
"Go, go, Cougars!"
Sierra found herself cchanting along withe the rest of her team, "Go, go..."

"Cougars!" yelled out Carlos to his companion, Arkenia.
Arkenia ignored this cry from her younger traveller. She was observing the encircling beasts carefully, her scythe discs at the ready.
Arkenia was a huntress of sorts, a markswoman, whom had a deadly detail for accuracy and a swift arm to throw her scythe discs at top speed.
The cougars growled slightly, circling the two companions in the hilly forest.
Carlos was holding his broadsword, which was quite heavy for someone his age to haul around. He was but a child, one who could not act fast enough what with that hefty blade.
Arkenia glared deeply into the eyes of the cougar that was facing her, trying to block out everything else, even Carlos backing closer to her body.
Arkenia was having a slight problem, she did not like people's presences around her when she was at peace. It could wreck the moment and may cause her to miss.
"What shall we do, Arkenia?" squeaked out Carlos, barely raising his sword in front of him as a cougar crept towards him, the fangs glistening in the moonlight.
"Quiet!" hissed Arkenia harshly to Carlos.
Arkenia had moved her head ever so slightly, but that was enough for the cougar in front of her to pounce at her.
Carlos squealed, Arkenia deftly sliced with the sharp blade of her scythe disc at the mound of fur that had advanced rapidly upon her.
With a yowl, the cougar backed away, liquid glistening on the dark yellow fur in a gash like fashion.
Arkenia was not able to tell but it certainly looked like blood to her. She was grateful it was not her own or Carlos's.
But, the fight was not over yet, they were still surrounded, five against two. Despite the fact one of the cougars was now injured, there was still enough tooth and claw to ravage Carlos and herself in a moments notice.

Intro: Logan Chance Marshal / Grandeay

Manhattan, the place where he grew up. Manhattan, the place where he belonged.
Sure, Logan Chance Marshal travelled a lot, but there was only one place that was truely his home and that was Manhattan.
He enjoyed his life, lived it to the fullest at every opputunity. He was still young-ish, he had a lot going for him. Until that fateful day.
It was like any other day, a day in which Logan did what he felt he needed to be doing, catching criminals.
Logan was never a fan of people breaking the law, he would know, he was a private investigator.
On occasion he worked with the police, but he and them never saw eye to eye directly. He worked one way, the cops worked another, it was the story of his life.
But, that day, was the day of his parents wedding anniversary. He had got the invitation that morning, though he noticed on the invitation the words "black coat and tie" underlined three times. He had a good chuckle at that, knowing full well that his brother-in-law John Gabler had something to do with it.
Though he did not know his brother-in-law all that well, Logan was of the opinion that John was an all-business kind of guy, only emotional when with Logan's sister. Logan knew this because John had confided to him at the wedding, "If ever you need help, case-wise, you should give me a call."
He had handed Logan his business card, which had the law firm company's logo upon it and after it, John's name and phone number.
"Oh, by the way, I'm not doing it for you. I'm doing it for Katina. She hates to see you in trouble."
Logan took it as a compliment and thanked John before placing the card in his pocket. The card was probably somewhere in his office, lost under casefiles and paperwork.
As to the matter at hand, Logan Chance Marshal had recieved word of a drug syndicate operated by some underground hoodlums were shipping their resources. Logan had recieved this tip from an undercover cop who was in the inner circle of the syndicate. Normally, Logan would have called for backup from the police, but he recently had a falling out with the senior officer in charge of the case. So, Logan did what any self-respecting private investigator would do, he'd inspect the area to see what was what.

Grandeay was a wise and old member of the Clunnox Society. But, even she had her moments of inquisativeness. Despite being five hundred years old, Grandeay was able to keep up with the other Faelings.
She was their protector, a main root deeply imbedded in the Clunnox Society's way of life.
On that sunny afternoon, she was feeling rather curious as to what the neighbors were upto.
Now, the neighbors, if one could call them that, were a small band of hobgoblins that had made camp next to the Great Clunnox Tree, where the Clunnox and Faelings resided in.
Despite being smaller then the hobgoblins and knowing full well their hostile attitude to other beings, Grandeay justified her means by deciding to walk the short distance, since she would more likely not be seen if wandering on foot.

(End of Intro)

OOC: Which sister is John married to? K, thanks.

Kiera, like the rest of her teammates, walked into the locker room at the side of the field. Their coach, despite being a guy, walked in after them. "Ladies, well done!" he said, and even though he was American, his Scottish accent stuck out likea sore thumb. the team cheered. Kiera, along with the rest of them, waved at coach as he walked out after his speech.
