Is anyone going to organize a mass boycott of the new film? That would be amazing to see and be a part of.
What is there to boycott at this stage? My boycott is with my dollars. If the movie look like garbage and looks like they will have changed and moved away from what Lewis created then I won't spend my money on the movie. Is anyone going to organize a mass boycott of the new film? Agreed, but Netflix is even more so.Virtually all movies happen because the companies that make them feel they'll profit. Name a movie production company that makes a movie knowing or with the plan that they'll lose money.
Okay. That’s stretching it. Turkish Delight? In theaters? Now maybe during the midnight premiere of LWW, they could probably do that. But everywhere? Nah. Not unless they’re trying to bankrupt the concession stands faster than you can say ‘rosewater’. That sticky-sweet dust gets everywhere. And then the crowds on social media will praise this (and hundreds of other) necessary changes. And they will say the church needed to get with the times anyway and they will serve not fish and chips, but Turkish Delight in theaters everywhere.
Oh, no! A relationship between Jill Pole and Rishda Tarkaan? That wouldn’t make any sense, because 1. Rishda has to be at least twice Jill’s age (yes, I know that a Calormene Tarkaan is known to marry young brides, given Aravis’s own dilemma with her arranged marriage to Ahoshta in *The Horse and His Boy*, but Jill Pole? No.), 2. Jill is a practical, sensible girl who wouldn’t have fallen for a Calormene warlord, especially one doesn’t believe in Tash or Aslan or any of the supernatural, and 3. Rishda is busy plotting with Shift, then later with Ginger to manipulate Shift and turn Narnia into a Calormene province. So, Rishda and Jill in a passionate relationship, is something I wouldn’t want to see on any screen. That’s a bridge too far.And they will say Rishda Tarkaan and Jill Pole had a passionate relationship all along.
And they will say that Shift and Ginger were bullied and misunderstood and the real Tashlan welcomed them with open arms.
