Narnia movie already doomed for failure? Aslan to be female???

Is anyone going to organize a mass boycott of the new film? That would be amazing to see and be a part of.
What is there to boycott at this stage? My boycott is with my dollars. If the movie look like garbage and looks like they will have changed and moved away from what Lewis created then I won't spend my money on the movie.

What new film? When they come out with something, then maybe. But Netflix has been known to pick up, drop, pick up, drop , pick up and drop movies in the span of a year, even with movies that have "rumored casts." They've also been very good at leaking bad info just to get people talking about it, like, for example, the Meryl Streep thing. While I don't know if it's true or not, I do know Netflix is very much less than forthright about ANY of their in production projects so until there's something to actually on film I will act as though there's nothing at all.

This is a company RULED by American Capitalism. If the movie happens, it's only because they know they'll profit.

Virtually all movies happen because the companies that make them feel they'll profit. Name a movie production company that makes a movie knowing or with the plan that they'll lose money.

Agreed, but Netflix is even more so.

They can tell if a movie is going to make or lose money based on registering viewer interactions after 5 seconds of video play time. They can tell if a series is going to be profitable or not an hour after it goes live, and will renew a series or cancel it within a day of its first showing. There's metrics they use for all of this and more. So when I say what movie, I mean it. Until the thing is actually in theaters and people are watching it and then it's streaming on netflix two weeks later or whatever, it doesn't exist. And everything about it may or may not be truthful.

Well, it’s been months since the rumors went out, and nothing has been confirmed. Though I wouldn’t agree to a female Aslan. It would make absolutely no sense, especially for those of us who Aslan actually is in our world.

With the casting of Emma Mackay as Jadis, thankfully there’s not going to be a male White Witch, which I wouldn’t agree to either. Also, absolutely no male Green Witch in SC or even a female Tash in LB.

And then the crowds on social media will praise this (and hundreds of other) necessary changes. And they will say the church needed to get with the times anyway and they will serve not fish and chips, but Turkish Delight in theaters everywhere.
Okay. That’s stretching it. Turkish Delight? In theaters? Now maybe during the midnight premiere of LWW, they could probably do that. But everywhere? Nah. Not unless they’re trying to bankrupt the concession stands faster than you can say ‘rosewater’. That sticky-sweet dust gets everywhere.
And they will say Rishda Tarkaan and Jill Pole had a passionate relationship all along.
Oh, no! A relationship between Jill Pole and Rishda Tarkaan? That wouldn’t make any sense, because 1. Rishda has to be at least twice Jill’s age (yes, I know that a Calormene Tarkaan is known to marry young brides, given Aravis’s own dilemma with her arranged marriage to Ahoshta in *The Horse and His Boy*, but Jill Pole? No.), 2. Jill is a practical, sensible girl who wouldn’t have fallen for a Calormene warlord, especially one doesn’t believe in Tash or Aslan or any of the supernatural, and 3. Rishda is busy plotting with Shift, then later with Ginger to manipulate Shift and turn Narnia into a Calormene province. So, Rishda and Jill in a passionate relationship, is something I wouldn’t want to see on any screen. That’s a bridge too far.
And they will say that Shift and Ginger were bullied and misunderstood and the real Tashlan welcomed them with open arms.

Okay, now that’s truly scraping the bottom of the barrel. Shift and Ginger, misunderstood? Victims? Shift was a manipulative ape who insisted Puzzle the donkey wear a lion skin and pretend to be Aslan, exploiting Narnia’s deepest faith for power, then later get manipulated himself by Ginger the cat and Rishda Tarkaan. Ginger gleefully helped orchestrate the entire Tashlan fraud, relishing the chaos, spreading lies deliberately to undermine the kingdom. And the real Tashlan welcoming them? Tashlan was a monstrous fusion summoned by blasphemy, embodying deceit and destruction—it didn’t have ‘open arms,’ it had claws and a terrifying beak designed to consume belief and innocence.
