Narnia Quotes Quiz

I have the Chronicles of Narnia audio books on my MP3 player, and I like turning my MP3 player on shuffle and seeing whether I or my friend can identify the part of the Chronicles of Narnia that is playing first. So, I thought I would make a similar thread. Post a quote from Narnia, as memorable or obscure as you want, or as long or as short as you want, or try to guess one of the ones already up. Tell what book it is from and briefly what is going on at the time of the quote. If no one can guess a quote that you put up, add a word or two at a time to see if that helps. Please post a new one when you guess one, so that we can keep a good number going.

Here are a few to start us out, some easy and some difficult:

"We have sent a brave lady into the hands of enemies and stayed behind in safety."

"Quite apart from the cold it was no joke getting into that quivering and foaming water"

"Puddleglum's my name. But it doesn't matter if you forget it. I can always tell you again."

"I've been asleep. Fancy sleeping on air. I wonder if anyone's done it before."

"To keep along the edge of the gorge was not so easy as it had looked."

EDIT: We are now just doing one quote at a time--it got too confusing. Post a new one when you answer an old one.

I can't find one either, so let me know if you can! Sorry if this is a repeat, then. Still, if you can't find the other, you could always guess the quotes on here! :)

"We have sent a brave lady into the hands of enemies and stayed behind in safety."

Was that Reepicheep when Lucy went to Coriakin's to help the Dufflepuds get visible again?

(p.s. If the other thread is found I can merge it then, but the search is still not working for me either)

-- Not sure, but Tirian's guess sounds good.

"Quite apart from the cold it was no joke getting into that quivering and foaming water"
-- TLB ch 1, of Puzzle going into Cauldron Pool

"Puddleglum's my name. But it doesn't matter if you forget it. I can always tell you again."
-- TSC ch 5, J&E meet P

"I've been asleep. Fancy sleeping on air. I wonder if anyone's done it before."
-- TSC ch 2, Jill en route to Narnia

"To keep along the edge of the gorge was not so easy as it had looked."
-- Is it PC, where they walk along the gorge of the River Rush?

My offerings:

"That's likely enought to be true."

"If you were not my father, I should say that was the word of a coward."

"What, lad? Art thicker and taller since I last touched thee!"

"Well I don't want to hear it, thanks."

All of those are correct, though I don't know about the chapter numbers!

"That's likely enought to be true."
The Silver Chair: Puddleglum to the Witch saying that it's likely enough that the world above ground doesn't exist.

"If you were not my father, I should say that was the word of a coward."
The Horse and His Boy: Rabadash to his father the Tisroc about trying to conquer Narnia.

"What, lad? Art thicker and taller since I last touched thee!"
The Last Battle: Tirian's father meeting Tirian again in the New Narnia

"Well I don't want to hear it, thanks."
I'm not sure, but I think The Silver Chair, Jill to Puddleglum, though I'm not sure when or why...so this one's still open.

Some new ones:

"No great wisdom can be reached without sacrifice."

"I wonder what they do teach them at these schools."<--This is kind of a trick one

"Yes, and it wouldn't have been alone, I know, not if I was with you."

"You didn't get any sleep, I dare say."

The middle two are correct, but not the first and the last - not even the correct books.

Oops..Well, another guess for the "that's likely enough to be true" is Lord Bern to Pug in VDT about how Pug treats his slaves as well as his children.

The last one I don't know, I guess...time to re-read the whole series just to find it! :p
