Narnia Quotes Quiz

More or less. It was actually said in response to Jadis throwing his sister Letty across the room, as Jadis had just discovered that her magic didn't work in London. Letty had refused to lend her brother any money to entertain the witch and, when she saw Jadis, Letty had ordered her to leave the house or she would call the police. This bold approach had not gone down very well with Jadis!

Please post a quote--or several--when you answer one, so this thread can keep going! I try to do five at a time.

"In our world too, a Stable once had something inside it that was bigger than our whole world."

"wouldn't it be lovely if Narnia just went on and on"

"Unless it should happen to be the end of the whole world."

"Laugh and fear not, creatures."

"All you've been saying is quite right, I shouldn't wonder."

Lucy says this in The Last Battle when they are in the world inside the stable

"Laugh and fear not, creatures."

Aslan, after he created the animals?

"All you've been saying is quite right, I shouldn't wonder."

Puddleglum, to the Green Witch, when she was trying to enchant him, Jill, Eustace, and Rilian

The first one is Jill to Jewel in TLB.

I think the second is from TLB too, but I'm not quite sure who or when.

My next:

"Well if they are, they're nothing like so good as the first one."

Glenburne's were right, and your first one, Peepiceek, but the second one was not from TLB.

"Well if they are, they're nothing like so good as the first one."
From MN, saying that if the people are jokes, they are not nearly as good as the first one by the Raven (I know it's a bird...maybe not that type though) when he fell. I think a leopard may have said it, but anyway one of the animals.

So, this one is still open:
"Unless it should happen to be the end of the whole world."

It's the Panther, actually.

Is the other one by Puddleglum when they fall down into the interior of the earth?

Edit: I've found it - it's Puddleglum when Underworld starts collapsing after the Witch's death.

My next:
"That's because our heads have something in them."

That was Lucy in "Prince Caspian", I believe. I think she was talking to Peter, but it might have been Edmund.

Jill to Aslan, and Aslan's response, in TSC ch 2.

Next:
"I say, what a funny name."

Shasta to Bree when he told him his full name... [HHB]

Here are some new quotes:
"I have come home at last!"
"By the Lion's Mane, a strange device..."
"Very well, then, catch as catch can..."

Niet. Try again.

"I have come home at last!"
-- Not sure - sounds either like TLB or Bree/Hwin in HHB.

"By the Lion's Mane, a strange device..."
-- Peter (or one of the others) when they find the lamppost before their return to England.

"Very well, then, catch as catch can..."
-- Caspian, of Octesian's bracelet before he throws it in the air.

Oh dear. Was it Bree saying Shasta's name was funny?

Good job Peeps! You guessed correctly the last two quotes. Also, the first is indeed from The Last Battle; now who said it?

That was Jewel the Unicorn upon realizing that beyond the Stable Door lay the True Narnia.

"I can squeeze you a cup of diamond juice to drink."

Didn't we have that already? It's Prof Kirke at the end of LWW.

"I say, what a funny name."

This one remains unanswered. It's not from HHB.

That's Jill, behind the Gym, when Eustace mentions Aslan's name.

(It's hard to do exact quotes from memory without the books, so forgive me if I don't get them word-perfect)

"Three cheers for the Hempress of Colony 'Artch!"

Isn't that a man in the London street who makes fun of Jadis when she proclaims her royal status?
