Narnia Quotes Quiz

You all are correct! Well done :)

Laurel,
Your quote sounds like Puddleglum to Jill and Eustace when he cooked for them at his wigwam.

Corin or Peeps do you want to go next since you did not get a chance after you guessed my #2 and #3?
You beat me to answering it! I would guess the same. :)

Since no one has posted anything, I'm going to post another. I hope I'm not stepping on toes, but I like to try to keep this thread going. I think it's really fun.

"We'll die if we're shut out on a night like this."

Go for it, Laurel! :)

Hmmm it sounds like either Jill or Eustace giving reasons to Puddleglum why going to Harfang to help the giants with the Autumn feast would be the only sane course rather than staying out in the cold any longer. But which one was it??? I need a lifeline...

Uncle Andrew to himself as he was getting ready to go out on the town with Jadis in Magician's Nephew.

Okay, here are three more quotes:
1. All said and done, none of us knows the truth about the ancient days in Narnia.

2. And we both pray and charge you to come hither as speedily as you may that we may be delighted with your face and speech...

3. Why don't you treat me as I treat you?

#1 is Nikabrik during the council at Aslan's How in PC, with the hag and werewolf.

#2 This is from Aravis's contrived letter supposedly from her intended husband to her father.

#3 Shift to Puzzle convincing Puzzle to do things for him in LB by Cauldron Pool.

Here's another few:

#1: "As high as my spirit, though perhaps as small as my stature."

#2: "O my Father, what is there beyond the hill?"

Here's an awesome one--one of my favorites--that everyone should know ;):
#3 "All I can say is that, compared with those fruits, the freshest grapefruit you've ever eaten was dull, and the juiciest orange was dry, and the most melting pear was hard and woody, and the sweetest wild strawberry was sour."

Last Battle, describing the fruit they found in New Narnia. (I like that one too :D)

Great job, Laurel!
Not sure of the two that Mewsie did not guess, but here are my thoughts on them:
(1. Not sure where this occurred, but it sounds like something Reepicheep would have said.)
(2. Sounds like Shasta asking his supposed father Arsheesh the fisherman about what lies beyond ...)

You're correct! Reepicheep said it during VDT about his goal to reach Aslan's Country beyond the end of the world. Do you have some quotes you would like to post?

okey dokey---

1. 'Is father was a hofficer's charger in the cavalry, 'e was.
2. See that they're properly washed.
3. The question is, are we to go with it or not?

1 is Frank of Strawberry.

2 is Trumpkin to Glimfeather, of Eustance and Jill.

3 I'm not sure. It might be Peter of the robin in LWW? Or of Mr Beaver?

Peeps

Peeps

Great job, Peeps,
and #3 is indeed from LWW, by Peter of Mr. Beaver!

Your turn...

The White Witch to Edmund, saying where her house lies in LWW.

1. "And all this day he had hardly left his pool"

2. "I have known you long. Do you know me?"

3. "I've always wanted to have just one glimpse of their world."

4. "Hobbled by all four legs and tied with a bridle to a ring in the stable wall."

Oops! skandycandyboykeynes and I posted simultaneously or something, because his post was not there when I initially answered! I'll added his quote as #4 on my post so we don't get too confused. :)

The White Witch to Edmund in LWW.

"Hobbled by all four legs and tied with a bridle to a ring in the stable wall."

Well the person in this description is definitely Jewel telling King Tirian how he is secured so that the latter can free him in the dark behind the Stable in The Last Battle.

Okay, now back to Laurel's quotes...

1. Shift the Ape at beginning of The Last Battle, by Caldron Pool.

2. Aslan to Emmeth in The Last Battle? Definitely Aslan.

3. The resurrected and rejuvenated Caspian to Aslan at the end of The Silver Chair.

Try these:

1.This is the most remarkable case in the whole of my medical career.

2. I must travel many miles to the west before I find a place where I can cross the river.

3. Don't kill it if it is alone. Capture it.

Okay, the first is the unnamed doctor speaking to Letitia Ketterly about Digory's mother about her miraculous recovery after eating the magical apple (conversation overheard by Digory).

The second is a tough one, but I think it refers to Prince Rabadash and his two hundred horse seeking a ford across the Winding Arrow.

The third is the command of young King Caspian to his followers going to apprehend an intruder on their councils, who turned out to be Dr. Cornelius.

Hmm... let me think here...

"They're not aiming at us. We'd be much safer if they were."

I think Corin's second one is actually the White Witch to Maugrim.

PotW's is Puddleglum to Eustace and Jill, of the rock-throwing giants.

"Well, not exactly."

Peeps

Correct Peepiceek, it was Jadis speaking to Maugrim, just before she set off from her house with Edmund in her sledge.

Yours is Digory, to Jadis in Charn, when she suggested that his uncle had seen her face in a magic mirror and had sent them to seek her favour on his behalf.

Let's see what you make of these?
1. Make way for the Tarkheena Lasaraleen!

2. That's for your insult of this morning!

3. Leave us, and see none enter until I call, upon pain of death!
