Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew Wraps Filming

Long ago, my fan fiction "Southward the Tigers" included speculation on what Jadis might have been up to, immediately after she increased her own corruption by stealing fruit from the sacred tree.

Remembering that Lion \ Witch \ Wardrobe was WRITTEN BEFORE "Magician's Nephew" was written, Mister Lewis painted himself into a corner where the eventual prequel was concerned. In order to set up Aslan's redemption of Edmund, "Wardrobe" stated that if EVEN ONE traitor went unpunished, the Narnian pseudo-planet would be destroyed. So here we are WITH an earlier scenario now on record-- and Jadis tricks NUMEROUS creatures into rebelling against Aslan. How, then, could Narnia NOT ALREADY be dead?

In "Southward," I think I came up with a retcon to fix it. But do you know what Greta Gerwig intends? Maybe, if doing the Chronicles IN ORDER OF NARRATIVE SEQUENCE, she will instead go down the road and alter something in the first-WRITTEN book to repair the inconsistency. Like, in L-W-W, she could have Aslan say that the disaster happens only if A DESTINED RULER of Narnia turns traitor. This would preserve the urgency of saving Edmund in particular.
