"Only Friends" A Celtic Thunder FF

Ok, more is on the way. It is most likely that this will be the ending. I've been thinking about this for a while and I think I have a good ending. So, this last update should wrap up the story. :)

EDIT: ok so never mind. I got writing and found a really cool stopping place so there's gonna be two more updates. :p

Grrrr, another double post. Sorry. :p

Lauren stopped dead in her tracks. “Jackie!” She exclaimed.
I looked at her puzzled. I didn’t know this girl’s name but I certainly recognized her face. It was the girl that had asked who I was. The “stalker” who had been suspicious. The girl who had started it all.
My eyes went wide and I looked for somewhere to go to hide so she wouldn’t see me. She might have talked to Karen. What if she had? Would Karen have said that she was Damian’s actually girlfriend? Could she have given her secret away?
I turned desperately to Lauren, “I don’t believe I’ve met your friend.”
Lauren turned to me with a almost miffed look on her face, “This is Jackie. She goes to my school.” Her voice had a coolness that was unlike Lauren.
Jackie looked at me suspiciously and ignored the hand that I had outstretched.
“What’s going on in here?” I heard a voice ask from behind Jackie. I sounded like Karen but different. Less high and airy. More deep and thoughtful, like she had awakened from a dream and had just begun to think clearly.
“Karen?” I asked astonished.
The red head gave me a beautiful smile. I had seen it before but the other smile wasn’t as free as this one.
“It’s me.” Karen answered, laughing.
Lauren was just standing there looking at her as if nothing had changed but Damian and I were staring at Karen with our mouths opened and eyes wide.
“But….you….you were…..” Damian began but then just asked simply. “Who are you?”
Karen laughed. A free, happy laugh. A smart laugh that displayed knowledge that no one knew she had. “I’m Karen, just different than the one you knew met 6 months ago.”
I had basically come back to my senses and had begun to think. If that voice she had miraculously gotten rid of wasn’t hers, and her laugh was freer and her general appearance just seemed smarter, then was she not blonde at all?
“Karen?” I began.
She looked at me with genuine interest, not with some flightiness that said she wasn’t really listening. “Yes, Eliza?”
That did it for me. Karen had never called me Eliza before. It’d always been “girlfriend” or “Liza” or some cute, short name like that. Never my full name and she never had spoken it with such wisdom.
I looked her straight in the eye and asked with the greatest of seriousness, “Was it an act?”
Karen’s shoulders seemed to relax even more. Her eyes sparkled as if a great weight had just been lifted from her. She got a childish grin on her face and answered plainly but decidedly, “Yes.”

The next one should end it. :)

Awwe, thanks Sarah! I'm really glad that you got around to reading it. :) Glad you like it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!!!! I'll try to have an update by tonight as a Christmas present. ;)

Haha nice Zella. :p

I've been telling myself that I'm gonna write and I keep putting it off cause I haven't been on the computer with the story in forev so I'll try to write soon. Sorry ppl! Keep reminding me!

Ok, if anybody reads this before my next update....it will not be finished in the next one. But it is winding to a close. If you're confused either VM me or post a question here. I think everything should be resolved but as I said, if you have any questions feel free to ask me. So, in about 15 to 20 mins you should have another update. :D

Yes, yes double post... Here's your update you've been waiting for. I'm not sure how much is left but definatly not much.

“You’re my guardian angel,” Damian sang.
Lauren, Karen, and I had a perfect view of the stage from where we stood.
“My light and my guide,” he continued.
I heard a rustle behind me and turned to Paul standing there in his kilt, all dressed and ready for “Caledonia.”
I giggled. I still made me laugh to see a man in a “skirt” no matter how customary it may be in Ireland.
Paul gave me a mock hurt look, “What?! Don’t like my outfit?”
He shook my head, laughing more. It seemed easier to laugh than usual. Too easy. I was still nervous even though the big part was done.
Karen and Lauren were grinning.
“You look much more dashing in pants, Paul dear,” said Karen.
Lauren bit her bottom lip to hold back a laugh and nodded in agreement to Karen’s comment.
“I wouldn’t know what to do, I’d be lost without you…” Damian sang, “Watching over me.”
It was the end of the song.
He and George came back quickly and hurried to dressing rooms to change.
Appalachian Round-Up started and I once again turned back to the stage to watch the violinist and Neil play.
I felt a presence behind me and looked over my shoulder to see Damian standing there. He was also dressed in a kilt but he didn’t look nearly as silly as Paul in my opinion.
“You looked like you had fun out there.” I said.
He grinned, “As did you.”
I ducked my head, remembering just a few minutes ago when I had gone out on stage and played with the band.
He looked at me seriously. “Did you?”
I was puzzled. “Did I what?”
He smiled awkwardly, “Did you have fun, I mean.”
“Oh!” I said, “Yes! Oh I had great fun!”
He grinned. “I’m glad.”
No matter how long we had been friends, it still gave me chills to see him smile.
I must have blushed for he chuckled and said, “I guess I’ll go embarrass somebody else.”
I laughed.
So did he.
“Damian! Caledonia’s starting!” Zara called.
Damian winked at me and hurried off to get in place.
I gave him a little wave just as he went on and began harmonizing with Ryan.
Lauren walked up behind me, “You really like him, don’t you?”
I jumped at the blunt question, “Uh…well…yeah, I guess.”
Lauren gave me a crooked smile, “Sure you guess.”
I rolled my eyes and went back to watching the guys finish their song.
When they turned their back on the audience, they were at such an angle that they could see our hiding spot back stage.
I gave a slight wave and grinned at them and they all grinned back. Damian winked at me.
They twirled around and their kilts flipped, making me laugh.
“Let me tell you that I love you, and I think about you all the time.” They sang.
I let the music wash over me, purely enjoying it.
They were done all too soon and the fans rushed to the M&G line.
Paul, Ryan and Keith had them so they went to change quickly and go to see their adoring fans.
I was walking back stage, when I felt an arm fall around my shoulders.
I wasn’t surprised to see Damian standing there.
“I’m glad you’re mom let you come with us.” He said.
His out and out saying that surprised me but I grinned and replied, “I am too.”
His gripped tightened around me and he quickened our pace.
“Come on, Eliza Johnson.” He said dramatically, “We have a tour to finish.”
