Sorry if theres a thread like this..I couldn't see one,but maybe I overlooked..
I was curious if anybody knows what order they will film the books in.Will the Last Battle be the last movie..I would assume after Prince Caspian they'd film "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader"?Anybody know?:)

There are cast-related reasons to deviate from that order. For instance, beautiful as Tilda Swinton is, if they wait eight or ten more years to film "The Magician's Nephew," she might not still look young enough to play Jadis as Jadis was _before_ she began her life in Narnia.

Joseph Ravitts, author of "Southward the Tigers"

Well, i think that it should go in the order that is most suitable for the actors and actresses. I mean u can't wait until everyone is 5 years older to film Prince Caspian. Copperfox has made a good point about tilda. The actors need to be a respectable age for the movies.

Unless they can have some quick turnaround between movies, or they replace the cast, I do want them to go past Prince Caspain. They are just going to be too old after that. Lucy cannot be considered a little girl, which is vital on the island of the Duflepuds, when she is a teenager. Georgie turns 12 this summer on my birthday ;)

I'm pretty sure they are going to be filmed like this

LWW (DUH)
Prince Caspian
Last Battle
Horse and His Boy
Silver Chair
Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Magicians Nephew

That means years before they film my favorite book-The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.:(

In and interview with Douglas Gresham, I believe, he said that they are planning on making five of the seven movies if they all make enough money. I'm not sure which ones they aren't going to make though.

Only five?:(
Thats a shame...where did you see this interview, please?

Voyage of the Dawn Treader is next and it is already in Pre-preproduction. I've spoken to one of the producers not that long ago and that one is up next for sure. They're going to try to film PC and VDT really close together.

Siver Chair will be after that so that the character of Eustace isn't too old. Not sure after that what will happen. Peter is an adult in LB for the most part, so him getting a little older...not a problem. Also, make up and computers can do a lot for age in film. I wouldn't worry too much about that. I believe after Silver Chair the plan was MN, then HHB, and then LB. I could be wrong. I might ask certain sources later if the opportunity presents itself...but they're busy right now. I'm not going to bug that person.

Nothing is set in stone after PC, but they're planning and working on VDT now. If PC were to seriously flop...that could change. I don't think they'll have that problem though. There's enough of us fans to make sure that it does well.

Let me poke around...I read a lot of Narnia interviews so I will have to go back and look.

I thought that this may have been from a very long time ago. After the success of LWW, I believe that Mark Johnson said that as long as each movie does well, then another will be made till all 7 were done. He did address at one point the idea of combining books into one movie...I believe they decided against it at that point. I think we'll have to wait and see what happens. If things take too long it will be tough to finish the series and make it look right. Finances will always be an issue. I'm excited that PC is being made and that VDT is in the works as well.
