Let's go even further. Imagine pools that take you to other literary universes such as Harry Potter, His dark Materials (which already had a multiverse), Fantasia (Neverending Story), Marvel universe(s), etc.

Maybe, some other book series' world's are down their. I don't have any examples for you quite yet or countries that aligned with Narnia.

Do you think the wood is infinite with infinitely many pools? Or does it eventually come to some kind of end?

Digory is described as being a person who wants to know everything, so I find it interesting that when they are taken back home via the wood, he doesn't think of asking those questions about it.

I suppose the future Professor Kirke was too full of joy at being able to keep his mother alive, to think about the other worlds.

I can't imagine they could travel too far from their own pool. The Wood was incredibly silent and would put someone to sleep if they weren't actively staying awake. However, fanfics can answer the question of what other worlds there were.
