Chapter 1
“When my dear old father dies, I’m going to be ruling the country, not you Armond.” Nia slowly opened her eyes, she had woken up to the princess and Sir Valun arguing, again. She sat up, she had the dream again, it seemed to be haunting her. She got up and walked over to the window, she pulled the curtain back, letting the wonderful sunlight in, and opened the window. The singing of the birds smothered the arguing. Nia sighed as she looked out the window, she had been living here for almost two years, here on the princesses ‘private’ island. Though it wasn’t very privet, over a thousand other people lived here. Nia walked over to her dresser, she could hear the arguing again. She thought about her dream as she looked in the mirror. I’ve changed a lot in ten year, she thought as she looked into the mirror. She had long dark brown hair, it curled slightly at the ends, her skin was tan from all the time she spent outside, and she was defiantly taller. Nia was taller than most of the ladies she knew, but she was no giant. The only thing that hadn’t changed were her eyes, they were still the same dark brown, with flecks of gold, that sparkled with wonder, or mischief. Nia picked up her brush, still lost in her thoughts, she heard someone call her.

college is going good, its alot of work

She sighed and put the brush down. “Nia, where are you?!” The princess called. “I’m coming, m’lady,” Nia said. She quickly put a black dress on over her night gown and went to see what the princess wanted. “Ah, there you are,” the princess said, as Nia walked in. “Yes m’lady, you called,” she smiled then glanced at Armond and smiled. “M’lord,” she said, curtsying. “Nia,” he said smiling, his blue eyes sparkeled, “how are you today?” Nia smiled, Armond was a few years older than her, he had taken it upon himself to look after her after her mother had died, he was the old brother she had never had. “Quite well m’lord, thank you.” The princess glared at Armond, “Nia I want you to make me some tea, and groom my horse, now!” Nia curtsied again, “yes ma’am,” she turned and walked out of the room before the princess could give her anything else to do. As she walked down the hall she could still hear the princess and Armond arguing.
