Playing in the Queen of Hearts' Castle

The Snow Queen smiles. She seems to be amused about Emmett

SQ: You have no idea you're talking about the same Queen

She starts to look again at the Globe. Her fire inside is burning. She doesn't plan to let go

Rabbit: We must get away from here
Eric: Oh you bet we must!
Rabbit: Let's get ready to leave
Me: What happened?
Pip: The Queen tried to freeze your love's heart but she failed
Merry: What if she did it to you?
Pippin: Merry!
Rabbit: Let's go!
Eric: I think that would be a great idea

The reindeers feel the sign and start to prepare themselves

The Snow Queen follows Emmett closely

SQ: Maybe it's time I must leave my world again like I did when I met Kai

Aslan suddenly materializes in front of the brothers. Their horses, rather than be frightened, whinny with joy at the sight of Him. "Good Lord!" exclaims Jake, to which Aslan replies, "Yes, that's Me."

Both men take off their hats. "Um, what brings You here, Lord?" says Emmett.

"A word for you," the God-Lion answers. "Hold this in your hearts: evil will try to convince you that it is all-powerful, BUT IT IS NOT. You may have heard how I struck dead one who was very much like the Snow Queen; I could do the same to the Snow Queen herself any time I choose, and she is a fool if she believes otherwise. But I would always rather that a lost soul were redeemed than eternally condemned. It may be that you, My sons, will play some part in such a redemption; but if this is not to be--if the wicked chooses in the end not to repent--remember that the VERY worst she can do in any case is to kill you. Even if she causes a temporary change to a man's personality, she CANNOT change his ETERNAL destiny unless HE CHOOSES to consent to it. Do not be fooled, and do not lose heart."

Aslan turns to gaze into empty air, as if seeing some onlooker whom the brothers can't see. The Lion adds, "And YOU, unwise one, should be grateful that you ARE given a chance to come to salvation. That one who was like you also had the chance to repent, but refused it. Remember what happened to her because of her stubbornness." Then Aslan utters a tremendous roar...and fades from sight like the Cheshire Cat.

ToJ: Do you think you'll be alright?
Me: I - I don't know. Oh! My ankle hurts!
Caspian: What should we do?
Me: Just go on ahead. I'll catch up later.
Peter: We're not going anywhere without you.
Me: Just go! I'll be fine; don't worry.

Me: We are going back
Rabbit: Back to the Hatter and Fireman
Merry: He will be surprised to see the both of you
Eric: Fireman?
Merry: Yep, the one who sent us here
Pippin: I'm curious
Merry: He is a dwarf
Pippin: Then Eric will look like a giant compared to him
Eric *smiles*: Everybody looks small compared to me
Me: Don't worry love..you are a hockeyplayer and those aren't that small
Eric: Some are
Me: But not many
Eric: Indeed
Rabbit: Hold on...here we go!

The reindeers are speeding up and soon the sleigh flies into the air. Pippin screams and Merry screams with him.
Eric holds Nessa tightly.

Rabbit: She won't fall out Eric
Eric: I know
Me: I feel save now
Rabbit: I see......

The sleigh flies into the dark night leaving the cold and evil land behind

A skua bird, a predatory species created for frigid climates, flew in a window of the Heart Kingdom castle, finding the King loafing--while watching a surveillance-camera view of the latest bout between the Lion and the Unicorn.

"Your Majesty!" squawked the albatross-like bird. "How would you like the chance actually to be able to say, 'We'll head 'em off at the pass'?"

"What's that?" The King finally focussed his lazy brain upon the bird speaking to him; it was not that he was unacquainted with non-human creatures talking, but he simply was not accustomed to being spoken to by someone who was not on already-announced business. "What do you want, my feathered friend?"

"My mistress, who captures hearts--but not in the playing-card sense--is aware that the plans you and your Queen entertain of conquering the other Card Kingdoms, and eventually the Chess Kingdoms also, have not made much progress. She is further aware that among those who have inconvenienced Your Majesties are the two presumptious Colonial brothers Emmett and Jake...and your own Lady Inkling of the Blue Kirtle."

"I say, now," the King vaguely objected. "Don't speak ill of Lady Inkling; I'm almost certain that she did something like saving my life quite recently..."

"Then Your Majesty will be pleased to know that what my mistress has in mind does not require any harm to be done to Lady Inkling, who is of no direct importance to my mistress. What my mistress does wish--and this is why I spoke of heading off at the pass--is that the other two miscreants be intercepted."

"Intercepted where?"

"Right in the very environs of your own castle, Your Majesty. You will recall that the troublesome brothers Emmett and Jake first came here from the pass that leads into the Realm of the Monologues. Most recently, they have been on the far side of your castle from that pass...which means that, in order to return whence they came, they need to pass fairly near Your Majesty's castle! You need not try earnestly to kill them, nor indeed even to capture them--although, if you can capture them without too many losses to your own men, this could also be made to serve my mistress' purposes. Only, she does not wish either of these brothers killed or permanently injured; and if the ELDER brother, the one called Emmett, should come to harm, Your Majesty will NOT receive the reward you would receive for proper cooperation."

"And what reward would that be?"

The skua gave as much of a conspiratorial smile as a creature with a rigid beak can give. "If you either capture the brothers unharmed and hand them over to my mistress, OR simply force them to flee back north toward the snow country, my mistress will help you to achieve conquest of all the Card and Chess Kingdoms!--these being territories she has no interest in occupying herself anyway. I emphasize again that Emmett, the elder brother, is of the most interest to my mistress; if only he can be herded into her grasp, this by itself will almost certainly satisfy her."

The King of Hearts nodded. "That sounds like a good offer. I shall muster all available troops to block their southward progress. Hmm, perhaps I should make the soldiers stand in front of those gunslingers completely unarmed; I know that those brothers are reluctant to kill defenseless persons, and their own conscience might be used against them..."

Finally, after a very long argument, the others move on and leave Alice sitting where she is. They are careful to leave a trail so that she can catch up to them later. Alice remains sitting in the grass thinking and trying to get her mind off of her ankle when she hears a lot of noise.
Me: *looks up* Hmm. That's an awful lot of birds flying through. I wonder where they're going? They're coming from over there. I suppose I'll try and take a look.

Alice manages to drag herself along the ground for about five minutes before she comes to the edge of a rather large cliff.

Me: Oh, great! A cliff! But the birds are coming from this direction. I wonder what's scaring them? *starts to look out, but turns away quickly* It's a long way down.. Oh, come on Alice! This is silly! Or is it? *gulp* I guess I'll have to look...

She gathered up all of her courage and looked. She could see the castle a long way off; and she also saw something else. A large army of cards was moving out of the castle!

Me: Hmmmm. I wonder what that's all about....

Toj was still worried about Alice and couldn't help but look back all the time.
Peter and Caspian were in a hurry to find the clues when Toj thought she saw Aslan following them, but he would disapear as soon as she looked at the spot where she had thought she had spotted him.
The three finally found an old castle, nearly in ruins

" Well, well i wonder what we have here" asked Caspian rubbing his hands in glee.
" Hmm, maybe we'll find something here....even though i still believe Alice should have come with us"
Toj wasn't paying attention the boys, because her eyes had just been set on the most beautiful white flute, she picked it up and gently played a soft tune.....
that ....

The sleigh with the people on board lands but not at Fireman's place. It lands a bit outside the Castle of the Queen of Hearts.

Rabbit: What is going on here?
Me: I have no clue
Hatter: Rabbit! You are all back?
Rabbit: Yep, save and well

Eric helps Nessa out of the sleigh and hold her hand and then he helps the two small hobbits out of the sleigh followed by Hannah and Edmund

Me: Alright..what are we going to do next?

At the other side far away from Wonderland the Snow Queen waits impatiently for her messenger to return.

SQ: Oww you dear man. You have no idea what I'm planning to do! Soon you will be all mine! MWUAHAHAHAA!!

Her evil laugh is heard like a thunder in the sky. The air is filled with lightning and ice. The weather has become even more cold.

Back at Wonderland bot Nessa, Eric and the two hobbits turn around.

Rabbit: What is it?
Me: I heard a scream
Eric: Me too
Pippin: And so did we

Hatter scratches his head and looks around.

Hatter: Hmmm....I don't know but something telse me something is going on

After watching the card soldiers for a little while, Alice carefully edged herself away from the cliff. Her ankle didn't hurt to much anymore, so she decided to get up and follow the others. It was very slow going and a bit painful, too; but it had to be done. She wasn't going to let them get too far ahead of her.

OOC: I will assume MGGT's last post to happen shortly _before_ Aslan both warned the brothers, and let the SQ know that He knew what she was up to...

"""""""""""""""""""""""

When the Snow Queen realized that Aslan was able to see HER, her ego's defense mechanisms went right to work, and she soon managed _almost_ to convince herself entirely that Aslan was bluffing and wasn't _really_ able to kill her any time He chose.

Nonetheless, she was glad when her skua returned about three hours later with his report:

"Your Frosty Majesty, the Heart-folk have performed better than I would have expected of them! Their soldiers did NOT like the idea of facing the gunslingers unarmed; but they still contrived to play on the men's decency--by forcing unarmed _servants_ from the kitchen and stables to go in front. These servants were forced to throw rocks, bottles and sticks at the two horsemen. As expected, the gunslinger brothers were too tenderhearted to harm these hapless pawns; and so, without one shot fired, they retreated...in THIS direction.

"I did notice one odd thing, mistress: before they fled, the elder brother swung a great long rope, clean _over_ the heads of the servants, to snare and pull to himself a spear that one of the soldiers had been carrying. He brought that spear away with him when they rode off; he said something to his younger brother about 'saving ammunition.' Once he had that spear, he handed his revolver to the younger one, while keeping his rifle and a big knife besides the rope and the spear."

Me: There is something going on
Hatter: But what?
Eric: I hear the sound of a drum or a giant or whatever
Pippin: But you are the giant
Eric: I'm not that heavy

What they heard is the soind of the cards macrhing together. Even though it was a while away of them they still could hear the echo of the thousands of feet

Rabbit: I don't like this either
Hatter: Should we check it out?
Rabbit: No...not this time
Me: Eric...what is going on?
Eric: I don't know but there seem to be something in the air or whatever

The Snow Queen looks into her globe. Her eyes focused on Emmett.

SQ: Soon you are going to meet your fate. Your destiny. And I shall be the mighty Queen!!

Again a loud scream and laugh and the thunder of ice and storm color the skies dark

Me: What was that?
Eric: I don't know
Pippin: It came from very close
Hatter: No, not close but it came out of the sky or so it seems
Me: This is getting weird
Edmund: It sounds like a thunderstorm or something
Rabbit: But the sky is blue

A very pretty bird is passing them and quickly continues his flight.

Merry: That's a beautiful bird
Pippin: It sure is
Rabbit: Let us go back to the gardens were we started

Everybody walks on not knowing anything of the danger outside the Castle and even outside Wonderland

All three felt themselves floating and rising and the piece of paper in peters hand started to glow.

me: I think we've found one clue!
The flute...
now we've got a sword, shoes and...that other thing left
Caspian: The ....my i don't remmeber what it was
Peter: Well, I feel as if something is going on, come on, let's find these shoes and sword.

Alice stops on her way to catch up with the others. She looks around. The birds were flying a lot lower, and they were bigger than she had thought at first. One flew very close by her head.
Me: I suppose I should be careful.
She started to make her way again, following the trail the others had left for her, when suddenly, one of the birds flew strait into the side of her head. It had been going at such a terrific speed that it knocked her out. She fell to the ground, senseless, and knew no more for a very long time.

Toj kept on playing around with the flute when finally she realized the flute was telling her something.
gently pressing the holes that were glowing, they heard

ALICE HAS TO BE SAVED>> RETRACE YOUR FOOTSTEPS

Peter: What does that mean?
me: I think we should go back and get alice, we need her
Pc: I'm with Toj.
and before peter could reply Toj and Pc were racing back to find Alice.

As the brothers rode northward again, Emmett said to Jake, "Do you smell bushwhackin'?"

"Yep," agreed Jake. "Them sissy toy soldiers weren't attackin' us, they were more _herdin'_ us....by the way, Emmett, a minute back I coulda swore I heard a _flute_ bein' played by somebody far off."

Emmett shrugged. "Maybe you did, but prob'ly it ain't nothin' that affects us at the moment." All the time he spoke, he was keenly scanning all directions for possible foes. "Okay, I think we're good'n clear of those card guards. Let's turn east; we might could circle wide enough to get past the castle on that side."

"So what's the ambush you think they wanted to drive us to?"

"Maybe _have_ driven us to already," grunted Emmett; "but all we can do is do our best and trust Aslan for how it'll come out in the end."

"You're right as usual. But I sure do wish somethin' powerful right now that we was in one of them early black-and-white TV Westerns where the hero's gun _never_ runs outta bullets, no matter how many rounds he fires."

"Well, I brought a good supply of shells for my Winchester, which is why I gave you my Colt with its ammo. But understand, I _didn't_ give 'em to you so's you could waste bullets on fancy trick shootin'. Only shoot when you got cause to hit somethin'."

In her head, Alice could here a voice, a familiar voice. "My daughter, look above you; look above you." Aslan. He was trying to tell her something. But she couldn't look. Slowly, the dream faded away.

The Snow Queen glows from pleasure when she watches Emmett in her globe

SQ: Oww you will not know what is going to happen to you! You have no clue how much I'm gonna do to get you over here. I will destroy the others. I will freeze their hearts but not yours. I have plans for you

The group is going back to the castle gardens. The Rabbit and Nessa climb up in the tree while Eric is playing a bit of hockey woth both Merry and Pippin. The Hatter continuously watches his clock. Then the Rabbit jumps out of the tree and lays his ears to the ground.

Rabbit: I hear it. These are the sounds of footsteps far away coming nearer and nearer
Hatter: Are we going to be attacked?
Rabbit: No, I think this is the army gathered by the King and Queen. They are not coming here but they are going to the Diamonds Castle.

Eric climbs in the tree and sits next to Nessa and Pippin starts to eat some juicy strawberries.

The Snow Queen decides to play for a while and sends some dark clouds to Wonderland.

SQ: Here my friends...have some snow. Soon he will be in my hands. MUAHAHAHAAAA!!

Her evil and sharp laugh fills the air and the almost black colored clouds are entering Wonderland

Pippin: Look at those clouds
Merry: What is this?
Me: Did you see that Eric? Those clouds?
Eric: Yes love, these clouds look so unnatural
Rabbit *climbs in tree*: They are unnatural
Hatter: Someone is watching us
Rabbit: Maybe not necessarily us

Voices.... Somewhere, above her..... Oh, but she didn't want to wake up. More voices...... Oh, her head hurt so badly......
