PotC 4?

Would you see any subsequent PotC films without Will and Elizabeth?

Okay, so I heard today that there's a fourth PIRATES film coming out, starring Johnny Depp. ???

If this is trueeee, are Orlando Bloom and Keria Knightley returning? (I, personally, can not see myself enjoying a PotC film without Orly.)

Your thoughts?

I've heard they're not. The rumor I heard is that it's supposed to be about Jack and Barbossa finding the Fountain of Youth. The last two were like rotten eggs so I won't even bother seeing this one.

That's what I heard. Which stinks, because I really don't think they'll be as great without Orly or Keira! :( I mean, Johnny's great - he's one of my favourite actors - but...grr. Obviously they either:
a) Didn't think about a fourth when mapping out the third (what with the no-more-Will at the end)
b) Heard Keira isn't looking to do anymore and decided no more for Orly, either, even though they could somehow make it work.

Or,

c) Just need to redeem themselves.

Ooooh, so there is going to be a fourth film? I knew there was talk about it right after the third was released, but it was still undecided. If Orlando and Keira doesn't come back, I'll be kind of bummed.

Rumours of a fourth Pirates (and a second trilogy) have been floating around since before the third film came out. Did anyone else hear that Johnny had signed a contract for some million dollars for a few more POTC films?

Keira and Orlando are not coming back; I heard Keira wants to move on, having been the part of Elizabeth since she was seventeen. I'm not sure about Orlando, but I read that he wanted to take a break from making films?

Supposedly, it's just going to be Johnny and whoever else. Geoffrey Rush is also purported to help direct or something, and the film is tentatively set for 2012?

I'm not entirely sure about all that, though; I haven't been caught up in my Pirates news since the last movie came out on DVD, and I kind of lost interest when I heard Will and Elizabeth were not going to be in it. =]

Yah that's all what I heard, but I'm kind of skeptical about the Orly thing. I can't see him taking a break from acting except for maybe modeling.

;)

GAH! The series'll be ruined without htem.

I heard he wanted to do theater or something.?

I know! I don't think I'll go to see it, if it does come out. I'll still be too disappointed with the ending of AWE. Haha...

I agree....even though the the movies lost my interest I still think it's bad both Elizabeth and Will are no longer in it. I understand Keira her point. If you are playing a character for a while it can get boring. Yes I heard the same rumor about JD and the millions of dollars.

I think that JD chose to go back because, no offense to Keira, but his character is vastly more interesting than Elizabeth, so I don't think that - and I'm not saying any of you said this - but I'm thinking that he didn't even need the millions of dollars to come back, because Jack is such a great character.

It's unfortunate that the series has come to this.

I see your point ;) It is true, most people loving POTC are more interested in Jack or Will than Elizabeth. But I do hope they will come up with a better storyline than the last two movies. Personally I loved the first movie the best out of the three.

And most of the people who come for Elizabeth are guys.

I like the idea of the Fountain of Youth - it seems a very Jack/Barbarossa type of thing, and I can see how they could get a rivalry in between them along the way, but I just really don't think it'll be the same without Will or Elizabeth!! :(

Before they decided to make a fourth - right after I saw the third - I was very angry that Jack didn't stab the heart, and that Will was about to die and blah blah, and now I think they did that purposefully because they knew that Keira wouldn't come back, and I HATE the whole "one lover is dead" thing and the other is all mourning and stuff, I dislike that GREATLY. So in a way it's kind of a good thing...and goodness I'm rambling! Anyway, I think that they were planning all along to do more than three and that Keira wouldn't come back so they cut the whole Will/Elizabeth thing.

If that makes sense... :p

they definitely need a better storyline but I'm not sure they know what it is.

amen to that! No more Pirates! *especially if it's just for money*

There comes a point where one series has reached it's finale. I believe POTC was ended with the first. I think that the story has been exhausted to extinction.

I think that, provided they make this work, it could be interesting. I mean, the Fountain of Youth is a really fabulous idea and is something that fits both the characters of Jack and Barbarossa, but I'm just not seeing PotC without Will and Jack's disagreements and Jack loving (well, lusting after) Elizabeth.
Did get really frustrated with the Will/Elizabeth arguing, though.

Well it could work without them but I would prefer seeing all of them in it. Though I don't care about Will that much.. Got a bit tired of him after the first movie.

But I will go and see it when it comes to the movies, just because of Johnny Depp :D hehe

That's why people are going to see it anyway. Because of JD. I do like JD a lot as an actor but the JS spirit is a bit lost now. At least it is to me. I never cared for Will Turner/ Orlando Bloom.

It's true, they aren't returning. Bruckheimer and Verbinsky expressed in many interviews that if they make a second trilogy it would focus on Jack and his crew, and not include Will or Elizabeth.

...I guess I'm the only one so far who voted the second choice.
